The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] novel Chapter 38

Chapter 38: Mecha Distribution

The Royal Military Academy was somewhat similar to the universities back in Tesseris. If anything, a major difference would be that it was closed to outsiders on weekdays.

There were also more simulation pods here than there were training halls for Espers.

As Lucas, he never really got to attend the specialized university for the awakened, but he once fantasized about going to one.

But now it seems like he regretted wishing for it. His mouth was really troublesome.

The truth was especially glaring now that he was running across the training ground, panting way behind the students who returned late.

Was this the difference between soldiers and wannabees?

Although they were technically eating the same thing and exercising the same way, these people didn’t break a sweat from running through the gravitational field.

Maybe this was related to the rumors he had heard all morning.

Apparently, they were the creme of the crop of the affiliated Junior Military Academy and have practically grown up training to be soldiers.

Unlike them, who just got conscripted, these people had been purposeful in how they lived their lives.

Well, Luca would’ve been like that had it not been for some circumstances.

He just shrugged the thought off, realizing there was no point in comparing himself when the outcome was obvious.

What he needed to think about was how to get closer to his roommate so that D-29 could scan him.

"Host, what about running next to him? That would be close enough and not too obvious!" D-29 had the optimism of an ostrich.

"Sure, if you want me to pass away as soon as we get there. Do you see that pace? How would I survive that?" Luca barked at D-29 in his mind but thought about ways to get closer.

Ways that didn’t involve shoving himself onto him or running after his shadow.

So, Luca decided to be his seatmate (not).

Well, technically, it was because no one had a surname that started with the letter "L."

Xavier didn’t bother to greet him, and Luca preferred that too. And it was a good thing that they had something to do the moment they settled down.

The temporary monitor handed over a few forms for the students to fill out. By now, Luca has been used to signing such documents.

Weirdly enough, instead of actual classes, they’ve been signing different versions of these questionnaires.

But this time, his attention was captivated by the monitor who said,

"Hand the forms once you are done and then proceed to the mecha field. The instructors are waiting for us over there."

One of his classmates seemed to know what this was for and asked, "The mecha field? Are we about to receive our mechas?"

Luca’s eye twitched. Did they give out mechas here?

Do they give everyone?

His reaction was triggered by seeing the prices of each mecha. He almost quit school in fear. They even started counting the number of apples they needed to sell to buy one.

And now you’re telling him that they’d be given a mecha?

He wanted to ask if it was for free or if they paid for it in their tuition, but he clenched his fists and remembered that he was now Luca Kyros and not Lucas, who barely saw paper bills in his lifetime.

Technically, he was given a mecha and an eye-popping allowance. But Luca didn’t plan on using the funds until he’d met the Duke.

What if he discovers something wrong with him and decides to banish him?
