Luke felt a surge of curiosity in his heart but quickly reined it in.

After all, this might be Eliza’s secret. It was probably best not to pry too much.

He steeled himself and focused again.

Eliza, of course, noticed the change in his expression but paid it no mind.

Since Nolan had entrusted her with this squad of Black Flag soldiers, it was clear that they were the ones he trusted most.

So, with regard to the poison insects, Eliza felt free to use them as needed, all in the hopes of finding Emmitt as quickly as possible.

Eliza said, “Southeast, 3 miles, an abandoned church.”

Fifteen minutes later, Eliza’s group arrived at the ruined church, only to find that the battle had already begun.

Tina stood at the entrance of the church, blocking it alone. Several bodies lay around her, all from Rikkert’s group.

Eliza quickly assessed the situation. The enemy had far more people–about forty to fifty, while her own group was much smaller, with only a dozen or so men.

Though they were outnumbered, Eliza’s men were no ordinary soldiers. They were Black Flag soldiers, elite members personally chosen by Nolan.

“Kill.”

Eliza’s voice was cold as she gave the order.

Luke was the first to unsheathe his blade, charging forward with a fierce cry. In one swift motion, he cut down an enemy soldier.

The other Black Flag soldiers followed suit, drawing their blades without hesitation. The battle quickly erupted in full force.

Within moments, the area outside the church became a river of blood.

From the other side of the battle, Rikkert saw Eliza and sneered. “So you are Diana. Since you’ve come, don’t expect to leave

here alive.”

As soon as his words fell, Rikkert charged forward with his sword raised.

Tina intercepted him again with a sharp strike.

Her eyes were filled with cold killing intent.

Eliza nodded slightly to Tina. “Go. Don’t hold back.”

Tina’s eyes narrowed. “Understood.”

Last time, she had held back to protect Serenity and Vaughn, but this time, Serenity had given her the green light to f full force.
