597.Chapter 597
The moment Vance finished speaking, the Black Flag soldiers behind Nolan could no longer contain their fury.
The audacity of the Malone family was unbelievable. They dared to repeatedly act so insolently in front of Prince Nolan and the Holy Lady!
That was outright defiance of royal authority and a blatant challenge to the established order!
“Your Highness, please allow us to deal with this arrogant fool! Several Black Flag Soldiers dropped to one knee, fervently requesting permission to act.
They understood what Nolan was waiting for, but the sheer arrogance of those people was intolerable.
To the Black Flag soldiers, Nolan was nothing short of a divine figure.
For him to be disrespected by such petty individuals was the greatest insult they could endure!
But they hadn’t anticipated just how brazen Vance could be.
Vance sneered, “Huh! Compete with mere soldiers? Don’t make me laugh. You’re not even worth my time.”
“Your Highness, you called my archery ‘not bad, didn’t you? Why not show me what ‘excellence‘ looks like? Or, are you afraid to lose?”
“How dare you!” The Black Flag soldiers‘ hands instinctively reached for their swords, their eyes blazing with fury, ready to strike.
But just as they were about to act, Nolan raised a hand, his calm gesture halting them instantly.
He smiled. “Since you want to play, I’ll play along. Besides, I still have something to retrieve.”
‘Do they really think I’m someone to be trifled with?
‘Now, one finger won’t do anymore.
‘This time, someone’s going to lose his life.‘
With that thought, Nolan prepared to rise and step into the training grounds.
But suddenly, the clear voice beside him suddenly inserted into the tense atmosphere. “To compete with the Prince Regent? You’re not qualified.”
Nolan paused mid–motion, and his gaze lowered slightly.
He noticed a small hand pressing firmly against his waist.
“Your Highness, stay seated. Since I was the one who spoke, let me handle Vance myself.” Eliza’s tone was steady, though her expression carried a trace of anger.
When she uttered those words, there was no bias, no emotion, but just the truth.
To be fair, Vance’s archery was indeed “not bad.” But that was only by her standards.
She had seen Nolan’s archery before–an arrow that could pierce the skies. Hit the bullseye from a hundred paces away? Even a thousand wouldn’t compare to his unmatched skill.
Vance’s barely passable accuracy was laughable in front of Nolan.
She could guess that Nolan’s earlier comment of “not bad” was simply echoing her own words.
But who would have thought that those mere two words would embolden the Malone family to such an extent, making them believe they could defy the heavens?
The Malone family really needed to be taught a lesson.
If they insisted on courting humiliation, she wouldn’t hesitate to deliver it.
After all, once their pride was shattered, they would have no choice but to face reality.
“Your Grace?”
Eliza rose gracefully, her gaze fixed coldly on Vance in the training grounds. “Lord Malone, am I qualified?” “Yeah…” Vance hesitated, his brows furrowing as he reluctantly admitted.
Eliza let out a cold laugh. “Good. At least you know that much.
