612.Chapter 612
Since Nolan had already handled the questioning thoroughly, Eliza decided not to visit the secret chamber that day.
She wasn’t in the mood to deal with Rafe’s face right now.
Even if it wasn’t entirely his fault, Rafe’s history made Eliza cautious around him.
The next day, as Eliza prepared to hold another prayer ceremony to use her spiritual energy to cleanse the lingering sickness from the people of Centrina City, she had just stepped onto the city wall when a sudden sensation made her stop. She turned her head toward a specific direction outside the city.
Her venomous creatures stirred, sending her a signal. “Someone is approaching Centrina City.”
“No… There is more than one.” Moments later, the creatures relayed another message.
“There were more people behind. Or rather, a carriage.”
“The carriage wasn’t crowded–just three people, it seemed.”
“But those three were driving the carriage in pursuit of the person ahead.”
As the distance between them closed, the signals from her creatures became sharper and more detailed.
At that time, Elize suddenly realized something.
“Anthony? He’s in that carriage?” Eliza’s venomous creatures detected the familiar presence and immediately informed her.
Eliza narrowed her eyes, her thoughts racing. Without hesitation, she called out, “Tina, bring me the person ahead–now!”
“Yes!”
Tina immediately leapt into action.
Before she could reach them, Anthony’s carriage and the bloodied man being chased had already closed in, stopping just a few miles from the Black Flag camp.
The Black Flag soldiers wasted no time and stepped forward to intercept.
“Halt! This is Black Flag territory–no one is allowed to approach without authorization!” one of the soldiers barked.
The Black Flag camp was stationed on both sides of the main road leading to Centrina City’s gates. The road itself remained open for free passage, allowing people to come and go as they pleased.
But instead of heading toward the city, the people had veered off course, heading straight for the Black Flag encampment.
What drew the soldiers‘ attention even more was the man at the front, drenched in blood and barely able to stand. Naturally, the patrolling soldiers moved in to investigate.
“Your Grace…, I need to see her!” the bloodied man stammered, his voice trembling and weak.
“Please… it’s urgent… I beg you…” he gasped, barely able to get the words out.
