After being chastised by Queenie for her lack of manners, Cassandra’s face instantly turned beet red. 

“Mom, aren’t you being a bit biased? Now that you have Cecilia, have you just tossed me, your adopted daughter, to the back of your mind? Fine, very well.” 

Cassandra stormed out of the room, brimming with anger. 

Queenie’s chest rose and fell ceaselessly. 

Caliste hastily asked her, “Should we go after him to check?” 

Queenie shook her head. “Why should I chase after her She’s only acting this way because I’ve spoiled her.” 

To be honest, if it weren’t for Cassandra’s constant instigation, Queenie would not have taken action against Cecilia, nor would she have hurt her own daughter. 

If it weren’t for the many years of emotional bond, Queenie would have considered severing her mother- daughter relationship with Cassandra.
