"XYZ-Dragon Cannon, summon!"

Off to the side, Seika's eyes sparkled as she watched.

Thinking back, she realized that although she'd taken a heavy beating earlier, and was quite angry afterward, during the entire duel the only monster her opponent summoned was that 800 ATK Submarineroid. The only eight-star monster that appeared was on her field.

She hadn't run into a monster with such overwhelming suppression as now.

Could it be Kira wasn't even trying earlier?

"XYZ-Dragon Cannon, activate effect!" Kira declared, "Discard one card from my hand to destroy one card on your field!"

He sent a card to the graveyard.

"I discard a card to destroy the set 'Cyber Prima'!"

Ammunition loaded, energy charged, target locked—the Dragon Cannon's barrels erupted with dazzling fire!

The students held their breath. Once again, it was a decisive turn. The set Cyber Prima was Alexis' only defense. If her field was wiped here, the Dragon Cannon could attack directly for the game!

"Not so fast." Alexis snapped, "I activate my set card! Trap Card—Angel Blast! When your spell, trap, or monster effect would destroy a monster on the field, that effect is negated and destroyed!" (Anime card)

Alexis smiled subtly.

He fell for it.

This trap would turn her desperate situation into a comeback. If he lost the Dragon Cannon here, the next turn the field would be empty.

This trap card would create the opening she needed to counterattack!

"Then, I chain my set card," Kira calmly flipped his last back row, "Continuous Trap— Hyper Coat!"

"Once activated, this card becomes an Equip Card for any 'VWXYZ' series monster. The equipped monster gains 500 ATK and is unaffected by your opponent's spells, traps, or monster effects!" (Anime card)

It was a unique VWXYZ equip card used by Chazz in the anime, granting total immunity.

Of course, you could still remove it by battle, or by removing the equip card first.

Alexis: "!"

In the crowd, Syrus gasped, "It's stronger than Blue-Eyes White Dragon, with godlike immunity!"

"Therefore, Dragon Cannon's effect continues," Kira said, "The set 'Cyber Prima' is destroyed!"

The cannon's fire continued, shattering the set card and removing the monster.

"Also, the card I discarded was the spell 'Card of Compensation'. If discarded from the hand, I draw two cards from the deck," Kira explained.

Alexis gritted her teeth.

Her reversal card, her comeback ace, was neutralized yet again.

"Then I activate the trap 'Waboku'," Alexis said, "This turn my monsters can't be destroyed by battle, and I take no battle damage."

Waboku can't protect from monster effects, so it couldn't save Cyber Prima from the Cannon's fire. But it could buy her one more turn.

"I set two cards and end my turn."
