"Lynch, you coward, come down here and face your death!" Adam tilted his head arrogantly, drawing his sword and pointing at Lynch in the stands.
In an instant, every apprentice in the venue turned simultaneously to look at Lynch.
"Lynch? Who’s that? Why does the name sound kind of familiar?"
"The winner of the War Feather, the rumored Shadow Sword!"
"Ah? So it’s him!"
The whispers of chatter immediately rose and fell throughout the crowd.
Even the two Judges sitting across the way shifted their attention to this scene.
Reo said, "This is the apprentice who escorted Calvin’s niece back to the Shadow Land? If the investigation report and Calvin’s niece weren’t lying, then this is quite an exceptional young man."
Upon returning to the Tower, an investigation into their journey was, of course, unavoidable. Lynch only faced a brief questioning, but Avery underwent a much more serious and detailed inquiry.
Avery was required to compile a report, detailing everything that transpired from the incident at Ghost Island to their return to the Tower.
Aside from omitting a few things that weren’t suitable for documentation, Avery painstakingly recorded everything else, especially the multiple life-and-death battles—she missed no detail at all.
From the Blood Origin Cult at Ghost Island, the breakout at Gray Town, the Undead Castle of William Heim, to the two final battles in the Forest of the Dead... all of these events were undeniably led by Lynch himself. It was through his solo efforts that they managed to avert disaster and return safely to the Tower.
These incidents were meticulously documented by Avery and, unsurprisingly, created quite a stir when the report was submitted.
An apprentice who had only recently progressed to a mid-level rank managed to slay the Ausen Giant Python, eliminate William Heim, and ultimately confront and defeat an entire squad led by a high-level apprentice...
Such a brilliant record could only be described as extraordinary.
When Avery’s report was first submitted, the wizard responsible for receiving it even thought she was spouting nonsense out of spite. Only when dispatched wizards verified the authenticity of the report did they have no choice but to believe it.
Shock!
The wizards who reviewed the report could only describe their feelings with that word. It was truly hard to comprehend how someone who had only just advanced to mid-level could achieve all this.
Especially considering it was someone who had only been in the Wizard World a few years—a Muggle with no familial backing, no guidance or nurturing from a powerful Wizard Family, just an ordinary Muggle!
Thanks to Avery’s intentional push, the report eventually made its way upward and was placed on the desks of the Judges. Though it wasn’t significant enough to prompt a dedicated meeting, the Judges had all read the report and were aware of what had transpired during their journey.
Codinos looked at Lynch below with great interest: "Highly specialized in multi-element systems, including Summoning, Body Refinement, Dead Spirit magic. Rumor has it he’s also studied Magic Potions and Alchemy, covering nearly all magical disciplines."
"Who was the last person that was this audacious?"
Reo added, "Let’s see whether Calvin’s niece was exaggerating."
Meanwhile, in the stands.
Lynch twitched his mouth slightly.
That guy...
Adam’s unexpected display had truly caught him off guard.
After hesitating briefly, he rose from his seat, walked toward the edge of the stands, and then jumped down.
He hadn’t joined the competition purely to avoid trouble, having no particular interest in vying for the championship title or the Tower Inner Apprentice slot.
But if it was simply for the sake of a friendly duel, he had no objections—in fact, it piqued his curiosity.
Stepping into the dueling arena, Lynch first bowed to the presiding wizard, Bruce, and courteously asked, "Would our recklessness inconvenience you?"
Bruce replied with a friendly smile, "Not at all."
At this moment, Lynch was still oblivious to the fact that, because of that report, his name had practically become widespread among the Tower’s wizards. Discussions about him in recent days rivaled even the apprentice rumors surrounding the "Shadow Sword."
