As Ryan watched the nurse grab his arm, his gaze darkened. Just as he was about to push her away, he suddenly heard footsteps approaching.
"What's going on here?"
When the nurse heard the familiar voice from behind them, she turned her head to look back. She immediately breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of the man standing there and let go of Ryan's arm.
She greeted the newcomer, "Dr. Walker."
A shadow flickered in Ryan's eyes, but with others present, he quickly masked his expression.
Dakota glanced at the nurse and then at Ryan. "What happened?"
The nurse took two steps toward Dakota and whispered, "I saw him throw some things in the hallway, so I reminded him to pick them up, but he…"
Before she could finish, Ryan bent down and picked up the things from the floor. As for the scattered petals, he left them. He clenched the items in his hands, his expression still grim. If his reputation wasn't at stake and for his unwillingness to cause a scene…
Ryan forced down his anger. He quickly wore his usual mask of humility and spoke apologetically to the nurse, "I'm sorry. I wasn't in a good mood just now. I didn't scare you, did I?"
The nurse felt somewhat embarrassed at his tone and quickly waved her hands. "It's nothing, really."
"About these…" Ryan glanced down at the petals on the floor.
The nurse followed his gaze and immediately understood what he meant. She realized it would be troublesome to pick them up, so she took the initiative and said, "It's fine. I'll sweep them up later. You can go ahead."
"I'm sorry for the trouble." Ryan then thanked her. But the moment he turned away, he dropped his facade.
After leaving the inpatient ward, Ryan walked over to a trash bin nearby and angrily tossed the items he was carrying into it. Then, he glared at the ward above him before storming off.
