It surprised Rose slightly when the king refused her advance, she stopped walking toward him and stood a few steps away from where he was sitting. He looked regal, like the king he was.
Rose controlled her emotions and started talking with light voice, concealing all the thoughts she had for the king.
"King Dacre, I didn’t upset the queen, she is still my little sister, with the baby on the way, I will never try to intentionally do any harm to her, but..." she paused, gauging the king’s reaction. "I think she is jealous with our interaction earlier and now she wanted to send me back."
Dacre nodded his head and his next respond left Rose speechless. "If she wanted to send you back, someone will prepare a carriage for you."
"King Dacre!" Rose was mortified. She didn’t expect this answer at all. "I came here with a purpose, if you sent me back your action will not look good on my father."
"First of all, you came here under the pretext that you will visit your sister, the queen, there is no agenda between two kingdoms and second, it’s my queen’s order to send you back. As much as this kingdom is mine, this kingdom is hers too, since she is my mate, the woman that I chose to be the queen, someone that I chose to bear my child, so if your presence is a nuisance in her eyes, she can do whatever to make herself feeling better."
Dacre was impressed that Rose could come up with the idea with the ships, but it was not an impressing or an amazing suggestion. Dacre was more impressed by the fact a woman could come up with such idea in the first place.
The only woman that he knew could actually use her head was luna Zuri, after he learned the truth that she had been the mastermind behind the succeed of River Creek pack.
He only really learned the depth of Zuri’s involvement in the business recently after he issued a decree the union between her and Khaos.
That was a mistake, he shouldn’t have let Khaos kept such woman by his side, but even so, Dacre had taken a cautious measure about his mishap.
"Is that clear?" Dacre picked one of the reports and then waved his hand. "You can leave now."
Rose felt humiliated by the way Dacre dismissed her, but she concealed it very well, as she read the room and knew it would only get worse if she insisted with her case. At the very least, she got the idea how this king was.
He couldn’t be seduced easily. It was weird, but somehow to find a royalty man loyal to their mate was strange, but also challenging at the same time.
But, if she could get him, it would worth the effort.
"My sincere apology for wasting your time, king Dacre, I will take my leave." Rose retreated.
Once she left the room, Dacre continued to read the report, but he was surprised that Rose stopped her attempt. He was not stupid, of course, he knew what Rose’s initial plan to come here.
But at the very least, she was smart enough to know when to retreat.
Later that night, Dacre learned that Rose really left the kingdom, she went to pack her things and leave the palace right after their conversation in the study room.
