Khaos used to be scary, but right now it was very different. It was different type of fear that he exuded.
The way he moved, it almost looked like he didn’t even touch the ground, as he headed toward Zuri.
Zuri was still sleeping, her condition was still the same, just like the last time Khaos saw her. The lycan sat down on the edge of the makeshift bed. He caressed her cheek, her hair and leaned over to kiss her forehead.
Her body was still warm, yet she didn’t wake up. There was no sign of life in her, aside from the way her chest undulated slowly. The only proof that she was still breathing, but aside from that, she was as good as dead.
"Where is Dezgar?"
Gayle immediately approached Khaos. He stopped himself before he could get closer to him because something about Khaos made him scared. "I will, I will call Dezgar right away," he said.
The gamma immediately went out to find the magic user.
Meanwhile, Khaos didn’t even take his eyes off Zuri. His grey eyes had turned red now, yet his hard gaze softened when he stared at his mate.
Gayle finally returned with Dezgar a minute later. The magic user was panting, as he had to run, so he wouldn’t make Khaos waiting for him just in case it would anger him more, especially when he already saw Zuri’s condition.
However, he actually had a good news for Khaos. On the other hand, the lycan still had his eyes on his mate. He didn’t look away.
"She is still the same," Khaos stated, plain and simple. "I told you to do something." fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
Hearing that, Dezgar immediately explained himself about how the poison had spread on her body before the previous magic users stopped her time and let her fell into a deep sleep. Dezgar explained about it to Khaos.
"But, I have a good news, there is a way to fix this. There is a way to help her."
"And why she is still not yet awake?"
Dezgar gritted his teeth. He would never recommend this method, but this was the only solution he could think of. "But this will be very cruel for her."
"What is it?" Khaos didn’t have any patience. He only wanted his mate. He wanted her to wake up, opened her eyes. He wanted nothing else but her.
"But there is the repercussion for that, my great lycan." Dezgar shivered when he saw the black shadow that crawled on the tent and the ground, they looked like snakes now and he really had to make an effort to ignore it.
Seeing how Khaos was right now, Dezgar was sure that he would never betray Khaos. At this point, the lycan was too intimidating and frightening.
Whether it was fear or loyalty, Dezgar would always follow Khaos, because he knew the other option would be a straight death.
"What is it?"
Dezgar furrowed his brows slightly, while Gayle glanced at his direction. He knew about the solution that he was going to give Khaos. He still didn’t think that was a solution at all. It would create more trouble later on.
"We can use drug."
There was a slight frown between Khaos’s brows, still he didn’t take his eyes from Zuri.
And then Dezgar explained about what he just discovered. The drug that could preserve Zuri’s condition. Initially, the drug was used as part of ritual in the other continent.
