Softly, Melody defended herself, "I didn't leak the news about Tessa's hospitalization."

"A part of the hospital's security footage is missing, and they're looking for it through some other means. Soon, the truth about Tessa's incident will be revealed," mentioned Jeremy, who had remained silent up until now.

She was stunned by what she heard. "How did I not know about this?"

He responded nonchalantly, "Harold made a report to the hospital authorities."

She saw the look on his face, and a thought popped into her mind. She hadn't had time to tell Harold about the missing part of the security footage. So, he had probably told Harold about it.

When dinner was over, Andrew called Jeremy to the study to discuss something. Meanwhile, Laura was busy bonding with Krystal.

Melody decided she would catch some fresh air on the balcony. She'd also reply to Felicia's text while she was there. Then, she heard footsteps approaching, catching a faint stench of tobacco.

The moment she turned, she saw that Denvin had a cigarette between his lips. He was watching her calmly and indifferently.

Melody's grip on her phone tightened, and she took two steps back. "I didn't know you were here. I'll make a move first."

She intended to leave, but she heard him snickering. "Why haven't you improved at all? You're still as cowardly as I remembered."

Melody kept a safe distance from Denvin the whole time, knowing that he disliked her. Back when she had first returned to the Wardolf family, he excluded her every chance he got. He had always secretly sent her back to the orphanage.

The night breeze was rather chilling. She was only wearing a shirt, shivering from the cold.

"Time to go." Jeremy's voice suddenly echoed.

Melody turned around and saw him standing behind her with a calm look. Then, she walked toward him without any hesitation.

"It looks like you two are getting along." Denvin cast an unreadable gaze her way before he absentmindedly looked at Jeremy.

He raised an eyebrow, looking fierce and menacing as he spoke. "Do you think about Cheryl when you two are together?

"Melody, she's your sister, and yet you're together with her boyfriend now. Are you seriously going to marry him? Has it ever struck you that she might haunt you in your dreams?"

Melody immediately paled as she looked at Denvin in a daze. He curled his lips upward in a proud manner when he saw her reaction.
