A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 80

Melody's feet were still wobbly as Jeremy had carried her into the bathroom earlier.

When she looked into his icy gaze, she immediately snapped out of the sappy feeling she had after she slept with him. Meanwhile, he walked past her without a second thought.

He accidentally brushed against Melody's shoulder when he walked out of the bathroom. Her feet gave way, and she immediately fell to the floor. However, he didn't even notice it.

Her knees landed on the tiles, and the pain was excruciating. It hurt so much that she shed tears. She had to stay on the bathroom floor for a while before she could pick herself up.

By the time Melody cleaned herself up and went out to the living room, Jeremy was already long gone, and the apartment was empty. It was as if everything that happened mere moments ago were nothing but fantasies.

He didn't return home for the rest of the night. She didn't know how dire last night's situation was until she went to her department the next day. Jeremy wasn't the only one who got summoned. Harold and the others hurried back to the hospital as well.

"Mel, what's the red mark on your neck? Is it a mosquito bite?" Tiffany suddenly asked.

Melody raised her hand to cover her neck and answered clumsily, "Probably. There are more mosquitoes lately."

The head nurse walked past her and gave her a deliberate look, making her feel extremely embarrassed.

Then, noon came. The head nurse called Melody over and talked to the latter privately, "Things aren't exactly looking up for Tessa."

Most of Melody's colleagues in the same department had her back. They were also waiting for her to gather evidence and defend herself.

Melody felt anxious about it too, but there was nothing she could do about it. Fortunately, Ophelia sent over some findings in the afternoon.

Rosario did leak the news about Tessa's condition. She was poor and needed money. That was how an unethical reporter managed to bribe her with 500,000 dollars in exchange for evidence of Tessa's hospitalization.

Rosario waited for the ten-minute power outage and took pictures of Tessa's hospitalization report. On top of that, she got a hidden security camera from the same reporter and installed it when she was cleaning up the room.
