There was also a different type of mourning happening in the Gaea Villa.
Fortunately, it was just Ansel mourning for Althea's garden.
Some of the enemies targeted the Villa areas during the war. When they realized that none of the Elders were there, they decided to destroy what they could to vent.
Fortunately, the guards found them relatively quickly so the damage wasn't too bad. It was just that they targeted Althea's exposed fields, and at least half of them was ruined.
One was even a fire elementalist and he burned a lot of plants, those jerks!
Seeing her brother on the verge of tears as if every fire user's damage was his fault, Althea patted his red head.
"Silly, don't you know ashes are good for the growth of plants?"
This calmed Ansel down a bit, and then he looked at the rest of the family. He curled up his long sleeves and showed off his sinewed arms.
"Well, then… Let's go fix this!"
…
Half an hour later, the repair works went into full swing.
Althea—now changed into gardening clothes—was replanting some of her trees. Some of these were seedlings that came from the greenhouses and were just ready for replanting.
Ansel and the other team members helped out, including the children. The adults would do the digging or clearing of the place, while the kids would bring the seeds and seedlings to them.
"Mwammaaa… hewe…" Little Pepper toddled over to bring random seeds to her mother. Little Meatball followed closely behind her.
"Mwamaa… dis doo…"
They were very proud to show the small seeds in their tiny palms.
Althea and the others chuckled at this. "Aww, thank you, my good babies," she said, giving them both smooches on the face.
They giggled, running with their tiny feet back to the seedling area. They naturally didn't know much about handling plants but, fortunately, Horus was there to arrange the seedlings and seeds, making sure the babies weren't damaging them by accident when they took them.
This went on for a few more rounds until the audience (who were there as moral support) could no longer take the cuteness. "Good job babies! Now, come here!" Winona yelled, waving at them.
The women who had just given birth were watching at the side with their infants. They were mostly seated down on comfortable chairs, though they'd be handing the 'workers' some drinks, towels, or even feed snacks as needed.
Of course, the babies were no exemption. They were ambulatory though so every few rounds, they went to this side to be fed a few snacks.
The babies were having fun with their errands, but then they saw the newly-delivered cotton candy on Winona's hands, and it was clear they had already moved on from this task.
"Waoww!" Little Pepper mumbled cutely, her blue eyes sparkling, as she quickly toddled to Winona. Her little brother, whose green eyes had long fixed on the treat, ran even faster.
"Foood! Fooodddd! Huff, huff, huff"
Anyway, the team took a good part of the day to replant everything, or at least put the new plants for experiments.
