The other woman replied with a look of contempt, “Were we? Are you sure you aren’t hearing things? You’re pretty popular right now. People are badmouthing you everywhere. Who knows, it could be the people next to your table gossiping about you!”
Sophia laughed softly as she picked up a glass from the table, pouring hot water into it.
“What are you doing?” the woman suddenly shouted with a terrible look on her face.
Sophia made the action of splashing water onto her, and the woman was so frightened. She backed away and ended up sitting on the floor with a pale look on her face.
Sophia swirled the water in the glass and said stoically, “It’s okay to gossip about me, but don’t do it in front of me. I don’t like listening to any of it. Murderers like me don’t really have a great temper. You better be nice, pretty lady, or I can’t guarantee if this hot water will end up splashing your face or not.”
The man was so shocked with fear at this scene that he did not move at all. He could only stutter, unable to say a word.
The waiter walked over when he heard the commotion. “Do you need any help?”
Sophia placed the glass back on the table and looked coolly at the woman sitting on the floor. “I don’t. Does this lady need any help?”
The woman shook her head in embarrassment.
Sophia sneered softly as she returned to her seat. Charles had gone to the washroom and just gotten back. “What happened?”
“Nothing,” Sophia answered.
It did not take long for their orders to be served, although the crayfish needed a longer time to cook, so they needed to wait a bit.
“Meggie, listen to me, I really do love you. Be with me!” They suddenly heard a familiar male voice coming from nearby.
“I can look the other way about the other men you’ve been with as long as you’re with me!”
Sophia looked in the direction where the voice was coming from and saw Ben crying as he knelt on the floor, hugging the leg of a waitress. That waitress was Megan Zander.
It was as if Megan felt that gaze on her. She turned toward Sophia in surprise, looking both embarrassed and disheveled.
All Sophia did was give her a glance before turning away to continue with her meal.
“What are your plans regarding the pregnancy discussion?” Charles pushed the dish she was picking food from most frequently toward her.
Sophia paused for a moment. The best solution now would be to get pregnant, but… She did not want to.
Once she had a child, it would be much more difficult to get away from Charles!
“I won’t force you. If you can’t accept sleeping with me, we can have a test tube baby.” Charles may sound casual, but his hand was going pale gripping onto the chopsticks.
Once they had a child, she would stop thinking about leaving him all the time!
“… Let’s talk about this another time.” Sophia stuffed two mouthfuls of food into her mouth after she said this.
A dim look flashed across Charles’ eyes. He took out a piece of paper and placed it in front of her. “I’m willing to give you time to consider, but my grandfather won’t.”
Sophia chewed her food and said nothing.
On the other side, Ben and Megan were still in the midst of their entanglement. Those encircling them were basically blaming Megan…
“She cuckolded her boyfriend so frequently, but he’s still willing to forgive her. How can she still lose her temper at him?!”
“Why can’t he bear to part with this dishonest woman? I feel so much pity for this guy!”
“Isn’t this waitress shameless? How can she be with so many different men when she already has a boyfriend?!”
