Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around! novel Chapter 247

The two men discussed it among themselves and decided one of them would take Sophia home while the other left with Master Harris.

After Master Harris got into the elevator, Madam Hemingway said to the two doctors, “Go home if your shift is done.”

“Yes, Madam Hemingway.”

“Goodbye, Madam Hemingway.”

The two doctors said their goodbyes and left, not looking at Sophia. They did not even say a word to her.

“Miss White, you should take good care of your health. Goodbye,” Madam Hemingway placed both hands into the pockets of her doctor’s coat and nodded slightly at the man standing behind Sophia. With that, she left with the group of people.

During this time, the man behind Sophia was observing the reactions of the doctors and Madam Hemingway toward Sophia. He felt slightly relieved after they left.

When Sophia took the car back to Bamboo Virtues Village, Charles was still kneeling in the living room. Ken, also known as Baldy, was standing steadfastly behind Charles.

When Ken saw her arriving, he immediately said, “Miss White, I need to trouble you to look after Mr. Harris. I have to visit the washroom.”

“… Okay,” Sophia replied.

She went to help Charles up when Ken left. “I’m taking you to the hospital.”

Charles leaned into her and smiled. “Are you worried about me?”

“I just don’t want to owe you anything.” The blood on his arms dripped onto Sophia. She was engulfed in a bloody, pungent scent. It was so strong that she almost stopped breathing.

A soulful look flashed in Charles' eyes as he lowered his head to look at her. He noticed she was having trouble keeping him up, so he said, “Just help me to the sofa.”

“Let’s go to the hospital immediately.” Sophia stared at the bloodstains on the ground. She was a little dizzy as her limbs started to weaken.

Charles let go of her and walked toward the sofa with great difficulty. “I can’t leave. Ken is Grandpa’s man. He won’t let me leave if Grandpa doesn’t allow me to visit the hospital.”

Sophia frowned as she watched him move extremely slowly. In the end, she could no longer stand by and went to help him take a seat on the sofa. “What happens if you leave now?”

Charles raised his head to glance at her, not saying a word.

“… I’ll get the medical kit and help you tend to the wounds,” Sophia lowered her eyes and turned toward the stairs as she said this.

Charles replied, “It’s okay. Just go upstairs and get some sleep.”

He paused before adding, “This won’t kill me.”

He wondered how much pain she had suffered to have so many scars imprinted on her body. He wanted to feel the pain she felt… Even if it would not help to ease her suffering.

Besides, he had other ideas for not tending to his wounds. Ken was a loyal and righteous man. Doing this would help him bring Ken to his side.

Ken did not have a high position or responsibility within the corporation. If Ken took a better liking to Charles, it would greatly benefit Charles’ plans in the future.

Sophia turned back to look at him wordlessly. She walked up the stairs and came down later while holding a medical kit in her hands. She came toward the sofa.

“There’s no need for you to do this. It’s just a little blood. I won’t die from it.” Charles looked down at her hairpin when he said this.

Sophia carefully pulled up his pant leg and grabbed one of his ankles which was not hurt. She frowned and said, “Stop moving!”

An exasperated look flashed in Charles’ eyes as he reached out to caress her head. He pulled his hand back before she could say anything hurtful or avoid him.

Sophia lifted her head to glance at him, frowning slightly but saying nothing. She lowered her head once again.
