Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground novel Chapter 1082

Chapter 1082 Worst Case

The paragons' brows furrowed.

The question was valid. Despite everything, there would always be a few people, driven by either fear, anger, or ignorance, who might act recklessly.

But to the other paragons, its solution was simple. If riots occurred, they would be handled easily, apprehending the rioters and punishing them.

But none of them were prepared for the response that came next.

"Kill them," Atticus said, his words icy.

Every paragon turned to him, their eyes wide, and expressions filled with disbelief.

But Atticus didn't stop there.

"And make it public."

He looked at them all calmly and continued.

"I already showed them all they needed to know. So if they still decide to be stupid, we let them know they're not as important as they think."

Silence.

The paragons shifted uncomfortably. And of them, only Oberon responded.

"All right."

And with that, Atticus gave a bow to Magnus, then left with him, leaving the remaining paragons to float there in silence, still processing the cold words of the nineteen-year-old.

The silence stayed until Vexarius finally spoke.

"Oberon."

Oberon turned to him, unbothered.

"What?"

"Now we're killing our own people?" Vexarius snapped.

The other paragons remained quiet, watching the conversation with different thoughts. They had already chosen to follow Atticus, and they had signed the mana contract that bound them to him.

But now, Atticus had revealed a side that sent a chill through many of them.

And in that moment, an unsettling realization dawned on each of them:

If they ever stepped out of line, Atticus wouldn't hesitate to kill them.

Oberon's voice was even as he replied.

"You saw what just happened. You saw how close the citizens were to turning on us."

"If we're going to survive this, we need unity. Anyone who disrupts that now… is a traitor. And I agree with him. If we coddle and condone rebellion, we'll never move forward. We send a message now, or we suffer later."

Vexarius opened his mouth to protest, "But—"

But Oberon had already turned. Without another word, he streaked off into the horizon, leaving a trail of light behind him.

The paragons stood in silence for a few more moments. No one spoke. Not even Vexarius.

But eventually, one by one, the others left.

Vexarius remained a few seconds longer, alone in the sky.

Then, with a low growl filled with frustration, he followed.

Meanwhile, as the paragons were thinking about their next moves, two figures walked side by side across the Ravenstein estate.

Magnus and Atticus.

It went without saying that the both of them moving together drew attention.

The moment they appeared, it was as though the people in the estate had paused, stopping whatever they were doing to watch them pass.

It was as if the events that had just happened were a passing breeze.

"How's training going?" Magnus suddenly asked.

Atticus glanced up at him, his expression easing a little.

"It's going great, Grandpa."
