They had gotten a lot of information from Whisker tonight alone.
Aside from the number of his siblings vying for control over Eldoralth, he had also asked for their details, their powers, abilities, habits, personalities. Everything.
Whisker had been nice enough to share. And after piecing the information together, Atticus had come to one conclusion.
'The man controlling the Dimensari and Vampyros is currently the most dangerous.'
It had to be remembered, the siblings controlling the Zorvans were the ones who had created the Obsidian Order… and more importantly, they were the ones who had crafted the life artifact that had trapped him.
Still, Atticus had decided that this man… was more dangerous.
'He outplayed me…'
That had been the root of his anger. The reason he had been so on edge. He had just found out something devastating.
Immediately after the battle at the military camp, after earning the ire of the Dimensari, Vampyros, and Drakon races, Atticus had thought long and hard about his next move.
The man he suspected was pulling the strings behind those races was too much of a threat. And Atticus hadn't wanted to take any risks.
He knew war was coming.
So, he had decided, instantly, to activate the Aegis Shield.
It hadn't been a decision made out of fear. If it were only him, Atticus wouldn't have done it. He'd have taken the risk and let whatever happened, happen. If worst came to worst, he had means of escaping.
But he had a family. People he had to protect. And for that reason, he sealed himself, and the others, inside the human domain, planning to grow powerful enough to withstand whatever that man threw his way.
But now… he was starting to regret it.
'To think he would actually attack them…'
Atticus was still stunned by the man's move. While he had been trapped inside the shield, the man had stormed the other Apex domains and retrieved their cores.
'But he said some of them still survived, right?' Ozeroth asked.
"Yeah," Atticus muttered.
Fortunately, Whisker's brother hadn't been able to get to all of them.
The Vampyros, Obliteri, and Aeonians.
"At least they had enough brains to act," Ozeroth added with a scoff.
Atticus didn't reply. Instead, he thought about what Whisker had told him.
Lirae, Maera, and Ae'ark had apparently decided that their future would be safer with Atticus. They had wanted to come to the human domain.
Unfortunately, by the time they made that decision, Atticus had already activated the Aegis Shield, and they couldn't get in.
But luckily, Whisker had found them. And of course, he'd shamelessly introduced himself as Atticus's 'best friend.'
Coupled with the fact that they had seen him at the Nexus banquet, when he helped Atticus, they had been inclined to trust him.
Because of that, they were each currently inside Whisker's world.
'At least it's better than them being in his arms…'
Atticus wasn't entirely comfortable trusting Whisker with them, not by a long shot. But still… it was better than them being caught by that obviously hostile sibling.
Ozeroth broke the silence. "Are you planning on doing what he asked you to do?"
Atticus paused.
