Atticus stared calmly at where Elderish had just been hovering, not saying anything for some seconds.

Just as it seemed nothing was going to happen, multiple orbs of light abruptly ignited in the sky, and with them, eight shimmering cores came into existence.

'He's gone.'

Elderish had bonded with the Regenerari Core, pushing his regeneration to a staggering level.

Because of this, every lethal attack he received would instantly heal. However, that advantage was rendered meaningless for one reason: Will.

Fusing with his Soulkin had spiked Atticus' Will to a level even greater than Elderish's. And with a higher Will, Atticus could now pierce through Elderish's defenses and allow the layered fusion energy on his katana to make direct contact.

Every part of Elderish's body, down to the cellular level, was erased before regeneration could even begin.

Atticus turned his attention to the cores hovering before him.

'I can't use them now. It's too dangerous.'

Even though Elderish was gone, the Gardener was still very much alive. And because of that, Atticus couldn't risk anything that might hamper his current strength.

'Are you okay?' he asked internally, and a chirpy, excited response came at once.

If not for the dire circumstances, Atticus might've smiled.

He let out a breath. 'Looks like you're okay, huh?'

"Kuuu!" came the happy reply.

The overwhelming killing intent that had once surged through the Soulkin was gone. Now, all Atticus could feel was unfiltered joy, excitement, even. It was clearly thrilled to be with him.

Atticus smiled faintly.

'This power… it's too much for it to last long.'

He didn't know how, but he could feel it.

'I have to move quickly.'
