Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground novel Chapter 1142

Atticus approached the door to his room calmly.

The soulkin had shamelessly perched himself atop his head, wriggling and shifting every few seconds as he tried to part Atticus's bushy hair to make himself more comfortable.

He whimpered once, twice, then gave a satisfied chirp as he settled in.

Atticus let him. Completely.

It was already clear who held the power in this relationship, and it wasn't him. With how cute he was, Atticus doubted he had the heart to refuse the little beast anything.

'I should give him a name soon.' Atticus thought.

"Hmph, I already took care of that," Ozeroth suddenly said.

Atticus raised an eyebrow. "Really? You looked like you wanted nothing more than to rip him apart the last time you two interacted. But now you're naming him? This one and a half month has been eventful, huh… Daddy Ozzy."

"Don't read too much into it, Bond," Ozeroth huffed. "I just decided to do him a favor! He was just so pitiful being called soulkin constantly."

Though Ozeroth tried to deny it, Atticus wasn't buying it, not one bit.

"Right… so what name did you give him?"

There was a slight pause.

"…Ozzy."

Atticus froze, his hand just inches from the door. Did he just hear that correctly? He shook his head. 'I see what you're trying to do here. You can forget it.'

"W-What, Bond? It's a name that suits him perfectly. He's cute and prideful. Perfect match!"

Atticus smiled. "You're cute too. And also prideful. That name was specially chosen for you, with love. Are you really going to throw that away?"

"Yes! The great Ozeroth is the great Ozeroth! Not Ozzy!" Ozeroth didn't hesitate.

Atticus chuckled. "Well, too bad. That's going to be your nickname whether you like it or not."

"Ahhh!" Ozeroth instantly rampaged in his mind, but Atticus tuned him out as he stepped outside the door.

The hot afternoon air hit him like a wave, and Atticus took in the scene before him.

The sun was high in the sky, its scorching rays casting their glow on the chaos unfolding beneath him.

He was somehow perched on the highest peak, within a tree at the heart of the domain. From here, Atticus could see everything.

People were scrambling through the streets, lifting different packs of supplies, surging toward the dome's edge with urgency.

Fires blazed in destroyed buildings, and people of different races passed buckets, trying desperately to put them out.

He could smell the fear in the air. He could feel the desperation.

Then, Atticus turned to the skies.

The aegis shield was still active, covering the entire domain in a blue dome. But that wasn't what caught his eye.

From every direction, beams of pure energy surged toward the shield, engulfing the skies in crimson light.

But before they could hit, multiple holes opened in the aegis shield, just enough to allow the beams from the warships at the domain's edge to pierce through.

Each beam struck the incoming attacks mid-air, triggering bursts of energy that exploded across the sky.

The crimson glow reflected in the wide, trembling eyes of the people below. Many clutched their loved ones tightly.

There was only one word to describe the scene.
