Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground novel Chapter 1188

After Whisker's absurd statement, Atticus separated from him and headed back towards the encampment where the survivors were gathered.

He just couldn't deal with the eccentric man right now.

A second later, he appeared above a vast expanse with billions of tents and buildings sprawled downward like an unending sea of makeshift life.

This was the temporary shelter the paragons had helped the people build. While many elites among them had enough supplies stored in their space storage to last a decade, not everyone was that fortunate.

Some didn't even own space storage.

And many… couldn't afford even that day's meal.

They had divided the people based on their races for familiarity and comfort, giving each group portable shelters to live in, for now.

Atticus fixed his gaze on the utter darkness that engulfed the shelter. It wasn't that late at night, but the silence was absolute. After the chaos of the day, most had turned in for the night.

He shifted his eyes from the massive encampment to a large building perched on a large hill in the distance.

A blink later, he was standing before it.

'There're people inside.'

He could feel the presences.

'The apexes.'

Whisker had mentioned it earlier, that he'd dropped them off at Atticus' place.

'I would have loved the quiet.'

He sighed. He'd created this house far from the main shelter for peace and solitude. But clearly, Whisker had been hellbent on ruining that.

Atticus opened the door and stepped inside, his gaze landing on five figures seated in the main living room.

Magnus. Avalon. Anastasia.

And then, the three remaining apexes, Lirae, Maera, and Ae'ark.

The trio stood up the moment they saw him, each reacting differently.

Ae'ark looked completely tense. The moment he rose, he instinctively took a step back, like his body was screaming at him to run from the monster in front of him.

Lirae gave a small smile, happy to see Atticus, though there was caution in her eyes.

But Maera's eyes lit up like twin stars. Pure joy radiated from her as she saw him.

They had all been briefed by now, about the scattered world cores, and that they possessed them. And more importantly… that Atticus needed them.

Did that mean they had to die?

Maera didn't seem to care. But it was clear Lirae and Ae'ark absolutely did.

"At, where did you go?" Anastasia walked over, gently cupping his face with a worried expression.

"I wanted to get some air, Mom."

"I understand. You should rest, At. It's been a long day."

Atticus nodded. "I will. How about you? Are you okay?"

He gave her a look, and she blinked, startled. It had been a while since Atticus asked her that.

She smiled weakly and pulled him into a hug. "I'm just glad you're okay."

Atticus hugged her back, feeling the warmth in her embrace.

'She's tired.'

She hadn't gotten proper sleep in months. Between the looming war and his coma, she had barely rested.
