Atticus left the secret base of the Silent Nexus more subtly than he had arrived.
One moment, his overwhelming presence filled the space, and the next, it disappeared.
He went straight back to the estate and his new training room. There, Atticus began his training.
His huge power-up had given him a new avenue for strength, but this wasn’t all good, it meant he had a new power to train. Coupled with his truckload of abilities, it was overwhelming.
But Atticus wasn’t complaining. It just meant he had numerous ways to gain power, it was a godsend.
Regardless, he still chose one aspect to focus on for now. While his other abilities were indeed powerful in their own right, especially his Auralithians abilities that were already at paragon rank, he didn’t like the idea of neglecting one of his main sources of strength, his elements.
He was already this powerful with his elements still in a subpar state. He couldn’t help but feel giddy and excited as he thought about how much more powerful he would become if he leveled them up.
He was excited.
And so, for now, Atticus decided to get used to his new power-ups, noting down their limits before focusing completely on his elements.
But before all of this, Atticus first paid a surprise visit to the Sanctums high above the sky. As they felt his presence, all the sanctum members rushed out to greet him.
The news had reached them too, the monster child was now a paragon.
"Scurry away, you oldies! He’s here for me!"
Ulithi, the Darkness Sanctum Master, stood between Atticus and the other sanctum masters with his hands stretched wide, gazing at the others as though he was protecting something precious from bullies.
"Look at you, clinging onto him like some desperate ex. Tch, embarrassing."
The Lightning Sanctum Master clicked his tongue in disapproval.
"If you want to act like a love-struck maiden, at least do it with some dignity, man. You’re making all of us look bad."
The Air Sanctum Master smirked as he added his remark.
The other sanctum masters stared at the pot-bellied man with varying expressions, ranging from amusement to embarrassment, but the Darkness Sanctum Master didn’t seem to care.
The last time Atticus had visited, the Darkness element was the only one he hadn’t formed a domain for. Ulithi wasn’t going to take any risks this time.
He turned to Atticus before quickly bowing. "I’ll escort you to the Darkness Sanctum!"
Atticus could only shake his head with a smile. He nodded to the other sanctum masters, acknowledging them before heading toward the Darkness Sanctum.
This was the second time Atticus was entering the Darkness Sanctum, yet the whole experience felt different from before.
Now, Atticus could see everything as clear as day.
His Darkness element was still at level three, but the sheer power of his current perception made the darkness ineffective against him.
"You can use here."
Ulithi led Atticus to the peak before gesturing toward the middle and stepping back, his eyes fixed squarely on him. It was obvious he had no intention of missing anything.
The other sanctum masters gathered above the Darkness Sanctum, also watching the scene unfold.
"How long do you think it’ll take this time?" The Air Sanctum Master asked.
"One hour," the new Fire Sanctum Master responded after a moment of thought.
The others didn’t say anything, instead choosing to watch.
The last time Atticus had come, he had formed all their domains except Darkness in less than a week. They each subtly expected him to surpass that level.
However, none of them could have ever expected what happened next.
Seconds.
That was all it took.
Atticus didn’t even sit.
As he stood at the middle of the peak, his thoughts shifted to the Darkness element. It thrived in fear, the cold, creeping dread that gnawed at the soul.
He had hardly ever felt fear.
