Atticus’s exploits had caused a huge amount of tension to develop between the other races and humans. This had an irreparable impact on humans all over Eldoralth, making life difficult for many, including Drill Sergeant Kosher.

He was in charge of leading the new human recruits, recruits that the other races would have ripped to shreds if given the chance.

Kosher didn’t utter a word in response. While each drill sergeant oversaw the training of their respective recruits, Staff Sergeant Voren oversaw the entire operation. They all reported to him.

Regardless, as long as he hadn’t been asked a direct question, Kosher was not obligated to respond to anything.

Voren shook his head slowly, fixing his eyes on the figures of Zoey and Kael before adding, "But I suppose they’re nothing compared to him…"

He didn’t seem bothered that Kosher hadn’t responded.

There was a silence afterward, one that was broken only by the sound of the door parting and the instinctive reaction of the sergeants.

Their bodies straightened, turning tense and rigid, saluting the man who had just walked in. Even Voren was no exception, instantly stepping to the side.

The man was clad in the military’s midnight blue, though his uniform had far more intricate details compared to the sergeants. On the side of his left shoulder was the insignia that signified his rank.

The man had a smile on his face, one that was odd considering his hardened exterior. It was filled with intrigue more than anything. His presence pressed down on the room.

"Colonel!"

The sergeants greeted in unison.

"At ease," the Colonel nodded simply and walked closer toward the screens.

"To what do we owe this pleasure, Colonel Zenon?"

The Colonel was in charge of the entire training camp, and for such an important duty, only a paragon could handle such a task. A truly strong paragon.

The ranks of the military were as follows;

It was odd for Zenon to be here, but then again, what was a sergeant doing questioning a Colonel? A grandmaster questioning a paragon…

But Zenon showed no displeasure. He welcomed it, in fact. As an Evolari, he valued curiosity greatly, especially if it led to change.

"I’m curious about him,"

Those were the only words needed. He had come here to see the human Apex. The boy who had defeated multiple apexes and won the Nexus. The boy who rewrote history, being the first human to defeat the superior races.

The youngest paragon in the history of Eldoralth.

The sergeants couldn’t blame him. They were all waiting to see the same boy.

Unfortunately, he, along with the other apexes, were running late.

Zenon’s eyes glinted as the screen flickered, showing glimpses of the impending battles that were about to unfold.

As Zoey, Kael, and many of the division leaders raced toward the peak of the mountain, defeating anyone in their path, the terrain narrowed further. Soon enough, the inevitable happened.

The powerful clashed.

Zoey’s streaking figure came to an abrupt stop, her cold amethyst eyes fixed on the form of a muscular youth whose entire being radiated an intense aura of negation.

A Nullite. A strong one.

He gazed at Zoey with intrigue. She didn’t stink, at least, not as much as the others. Her mana was negligible at best, and instead, a calmer energy coursed through her veins.
