Chapter 43: Badass Valkyries

"Then I forgive you, Kai!" Aria chirped merrily. The silver-haired beauty seemed to not care too much.

"Thank you. Check your systemic interface. I wonder if you got a power." Kaiden did his best to move the topic along before the gamer girl started slinging fists at him instead of mere curses.

"Oh! I did. I awakened!" Nyx squealed with pure joy. "Space Valkyrie, it sounds very badass! However... It only has one spell."

Having one spell upon awakening often meant that the class would be F-tier once evaluated by the artifact in the Awakened Assocation. Each time an awakened reached a bottleneck, the first of which would happen at level 25, they would face a challenge. If they pass, the class will gain new abilities. However, there's a good reason for the tiering of the classes and why they were so important to decide one's ceiling as a combatant.

While low-tier awakened could put up a fight against higher ones if they were either higher leveled or just much better combatants, the higher-tiered people would gain better rewards, such as more or stronger spells, giving them giant innate advantages over the lower tiers.

"Moon Valkyrie! It sounds so beautiful; I love it so much." Aria was not at all disturbed by the fact that she also only had a single skill based on her ethereal, happy smile.

"A good theory," Kaiden nodded, thinking the same thing. "What are your spells?"

"Stormblade... Says I can summon a blade that's made of pure storm."

"Lunar Arc, a crescent-shaped energy projectile."

Both Luna and Aria had revealed their innate spells, and now it was time for Nyx to do so.

She had a mischievous grin tugging at her lips. "Master, open wide. [Telekinesis]."

Nyx focused her gaze on a salmon nigiri and started making motions with her fingers as if she were touching it despite the distance between her fingers and the sushi.

She dipped it in soy sauce, and once Kaiden realized what was going on and parted his lips, the piece of sushi was already floating in front of his mouth. She gently lay it down on his tongue while snickering with joy. The girl was very pleased with her spell.

"Master? Contain your deranged kinks, please," Luna grumbled.

The girl in question wasn't bothered by the three wide-eyed individuals staring at her with disbelief as she seamlessly continued with her reasonings. "The wording sense the system uses implies that Kaiden is our god and we are his angels or something along those lines. We derive everything supernatural that we have from him, and he can take it all away from us with a single thought of his. Furthermore, we already know that we will become stronger not just through leveling up but by making our 'god' increase his strength as well.
