Extra's Death: I Am the Son of Hades novel Chapter 595

Karax didn't look at the Berserker.

He couldn't.

His eyes were fixed on the 'Queen' as she walked away.

There was no hesitation in her steps. She didn't turn to look back at him, or her children.

So there really is nothing left of her. The berserker killed her, and took over her body, just like the legends said he could.

Karax lay covered in blood.

His body, soul, Core, Seed of Existence, and even Consciousness had been destroyed by the Berserker.

The Elementals had fearsome power that could kill everything.

Around Karax, the chamber was filled with bodies. His brothers, sisters, soldiers, caretakers. His entire colony. All of them were dead.

His mandibles hung low. His breath came in shallow bursts. He was alive, but barely.

This is it, he thought, his gaze fixed on the blood pooling beneath him.

This is how I die? Without protecting anyone?

He didn't expect an answer. The Berserker had already left, saying nothing more. There was no mockery, no speech about victory or strength. Just pure anger, then indifference, as if wasting time on ants was beneath him.

As if they were insects who were meant to be crushed beneath feet.

Karax lay there, motionless.

The pain was dull now, almost distant.

What consumed him more than anything was the weight of failure pressing against his chest.

The Queen was gone. Not dead—just… taken. Used.

There was no way to explain what it felt like, watching her hands strike down their children, hearing her voice twisted with the fury of a monster who didn't belong in their world.

His mind drifted between memories. His first battle. The day he was named Champion. The oath he made.

And then, the image of his fellow soldiers lying motionless beside him pulled him back to the present.

He blinked slowly. His mind was fraying at the edges.

But then, something stirred.

It wasn't from outside. It came from within.

The warmth, soft at first, almost like a breath, surged.

It was life.

The warmth flowed like the steady flow of water.

A stream of blue light shimmered into existence around him, coiling gently in the air.

Karax didn't move. He just watched it.

The stream — the Sacred Treasure given to him by the Queen —wrapped around him like a mother's embrace.

His Seed of Existence, shattered during the slaughter, pulsed faintly. Then, one by one, its cracks began to vanish.

His consciousness, almost annihilated, began to sharpen again.

He inhaled, slowly. This time, his chest didn't ache. His limbs no longer trembled.

The Sacred Treasure had breathed life into him.

Karax sat up. His body still bore the wounds of the battle, but something had changed. He felt… whole, and alive.

He felt stronger.

As if he had been reborn.

He looked around the chamber once more.

Nothing had changed.

The corpses were still there. The blood was still fresh. The silence was still heavy.

But his gaze was no longer clouded by shock.

He saw each face. Each comrade. Each life that had been taken.

And this time, he didn't look away.

Krelas. Mera. Thiln. Names came one after the other. Some he had fought beside. Others he had only seen in passing. But they were all part of his colony.

They were family.
