Xie Jie and Yin Fu: !!
That night, even though they tried their best, they couldn't get a single piece of pork belly. In the end they were so angry that they puffed their cheeks and ate the shrimp curry. It was another thing that they snuck out of their rooms in the middle of the night and then finished the leftovers.
Mo Qiang, who watched them take out the bowl, simply shook her head and snickered lightly. She knew that they would do such a thing; that was why she asked Ling Che to cook extra pork belly and keep it in the refrigerator. While it tasted really good when it was freshly taken out of the pot, once it was left to stew inside the refrigerator for an hour or two, it tasted even better.
Chuckling to herself, she returned to her room.
While the Mo family had a satisfying meal, things were not going great at Fu Shi's camp. The soldiers looked at the black, watery porridge that was in front of them and sighed heavily. Were they really going to rely on this meal until the war was over?
They didn't want to!
Fu Shi too had a hard time accepting the changes in the situation. Just a few days ago, she was confident that she was going to win the battle but now —
"How could this happen? How could it ever happen!?" She threw the bowl of black porridge onto the ground and let the thing scatter all over the floor. She was nursing the remnants of the zerg queen within her and needed a lot of energy for it. Who would have thought that she would actually be starved to death like this?
Just what was happening to her! And why!? She could have won this war; she could have won the throne but no!
Fu Shi breathed heavily as if a fire had been set within her heart. The food had run out and the morale of the soldiers was going down with every day; if this continued, who knows what would happen to the army that she had raised after going through so much trouble!?
She raised her hand and pinched the bridge of his nose before saying to the rest of the team, "Did any of you get a channel to get more food supplies?"
The second she finished her question, the entire council turned quiet; she slowly twisted her neck and turned to look at Si Ma, Wei Yunrou and the rest. She prodded in a harsh voice, "Well?"
"Forgive us, your highness." Si Ma bowed her head and apologised in a soft voice. "But we couldn't find any channels to bring food."
"And what do you mean by that?" Fu Shi felt the anger that had gone down slowly to rise up again. She glared at Si Ma and said to her, "I told you all the channels that could be used. So why didn't you use your heads and connect to them—"
