"I am sorry, mister Jiang," Chen Han's secretary spoke to Jiang Zu with a polite smile on his face. His head was slightly bowed and he was pretending to be as calm as he could while facing the almost hysterical mer in front of him.
"What do you mean?" Jiang Zu questioned with an upset voice. "Did you really tell her that it was me who came to see her?"
Jiang Zu was used to being treated kindly by Chen Han, for him everything that was happening to him was simply new to him.
Even though he had tried to contact Chen Han through various means the woman had refused to answer his calls and texts.
To make things even worse, Chen Han was simply refusing to talk to him even though he was trying to reach out to her through various means and channels.
And this was Jiang Zu's first time being treated like this, Chen Han was clearly the one who had chased after him for a very long time. How in the world did the situation turn around like this and in such a manner?
He remembered being treated like a precious gem which Chen Han couldn't get enough of, so how could Jiang Zu accept such a thing?
The assistant Chen Han did not lose his poise even though he was being blamed for something he didn't do.
This was because he was aware of his position very well.
Even though Jiang Zu was no longer the beauty who held the heart of his boss, he was well aware of the fact that a woman's thoughts and actions could never be predicted or understood.
What if Chen Han went back to Jiang Zu? She had kept this mer the closest to her. In case the wheel of fortune started to turn for Jiang Zu again, wouldn't he lose a seven-figure job for no reason?
He might as well suck it for the time being and once everything was confirmed —
'I will pay back double the humiliation to this mer,' the assistant thought.
He continued to smile at Jiang Zu and replied, "Of course, I did. But Miss Chen is busy with a new project and cannot afford to leave such an important matter in the hands of someone else."
A load of rubbish, Jiang Zu thought. In the past, Chen Han would leave anything and everything behind as long as he called her. But now she was refusing to see him under the pretext that she was too busy? Who was Chen Han trying to fool?
Jiang Zu wanted to say something scathing but when he thought about how he might need Chen Han for something, he swallowed his words and nodded.
He understandably nodded and said to the assistant, "Then please let her know that I will be waiting for her call, ask her to contact me as soon as possible."
"Sure, Mister Jiang. I will let Miss Chen know," Mister Assistant nodded. His attitude was still polite and friendly.
Jiang Zu nodded and took his leave. Once the mer was gone, Jin Bao heaved a sigh of relief and turned to walk inside the office once again.
As soon as he entered, he ran into Chen Han's secretary. Xuan Yan.
