Chapter 35 – Sister
The arena was shattered.
The cheers were loud, wild—filled with bloodlust, madness, and raw excitement.
A thick cloud of smoke and dust covered the battlefield. No one could see the outcome.
Finally, the smoke cleared.
The sight that emerged stunned everyone.
In the ruined arena, Noah stood upright, calm at first glance—but the sharp-eyed saw the truth. He was injured. Badly. Yuki's last attack had truly been penetrating.
Even through all his barriers, she'd struck him. Blood flowed steadily from his chest, soaking through his clothes.
Noah chuckled softly, "You're incredible, Yuki. I truly underestimated you." His voice was low, unheard by the spectators.
He was genuinely surprised. He thought with his power, no one his age could match him. Granted, he hadn't used his other auras—but still, this was an exception.
This generation... is insane.
He looked ahead.
There, lying on her back, was Yuki. Bleeding, eyes fixed on the sky as if in a trance.
Noah stepped closer.
"So, how was that last strike of mine?"
Yuki's eyes focused slowly. She turned her gaze toward him and said, simply—but with raw, heavy emotion:
"Teach me."
That was it. Just that. But the weight behind those words made the air shift.
Noah smiled slightly. "Why would I do that? You just tried to kill me, did you forget?"
"I'm sorry," she said, still breathless. "Teach me now."
Noah's lips twitched. Is a sorry enough? Where did this girl grow up?
He sighed. "We'll talk about that once we're in the academy."
He turned and walked away.
Yuki's eyes never left his back.
He had what he came for. Her attention. That was enough—for now.
As he left, Noah looked up—locking eyes with Elijah, who was watching him from the stands with a deep frown.
Noah grinned. Wide. Unapologetic.
Mocking.
"WINNER: NOAH WEAVERHEART!"
"OOOOAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
The crowd erupted in cheers.
Damon watched with a wide smile. He was enjoying every second. These kids... they were monsters.
⸻
Elijah clenched his fists.
He didn't know why—but he felt it. If he didn't act soon, the same thing that happened with Sophie would happen with Yuki.
His expression darkened.
It was one thing to take Sophie away from him.
But now... Yuki?
His women?
His eyes hardened.
He had never truly seen Noah as an enemy. Even with the Quest, he only saw him as an obstacle. Something to step over. He was the chosen one—he believed in his destiny.
But this...
This crossed a line.
"Okay," he thought, cold fury in his eyes. "It's personal now, Noah."
What he didn't know... was that for Noah, it had always been personal.
⸻
"NEXT MATCH: LEONA VS LUCIUS."
Leona grinned and turned to Elijah. "It's my turn, Elijah! Cheer me on!"
Elijah snapped out of his thoughts and smiled. "Of course. You'll win easily."
Leona puffed her chest proudly and made her way to the arena.
—
In the center stood Lucius—a boy with jet-black hair and average features.
But his power was far from average.
His talent: anti-mana.
Around him, mana ceased to exist. What he touched, he drained. He held a deep black sword that radiated ominous energy.
Leona looked at him, unimpressed.
"BEGIN."
Lucius acted immediately, slashing out a black arc of energy.
Leona responded instantly. "Come forth—Beibei."
A massive panda appeared out of nowhere, tanking the hit without flinching.
But Leona wasn't done.
"Russia, Lonlon, Borial, Ricky, Tata, Tonton... all of you—come forth."
Lucius's face paled. "Wait—hey?! Isn't this too much?!"
His voice cracked.
Leona smirked. "I want to impress someone, you see. So... forgive me."
She said it in mock honesty.
"F*ck!" Lucius cursed—but didn't back down.
That was his mistake.
Seven A-rank beasts swarmed him from every direction.
He nearly died.
"WINNER: LEONA."
"Easy win," she said casually, before making all her beasts vanish into her soul space.
