Chapter 91: Demon Continent
Lucius stood frozen, his thoughts scrambled.
"Did... did you really betray the Crow?" he asked, voice hollow with disbelief.
"Since when?"
Leona smiled sweetly, as if discussing the weather. "About a month ago. Everything I’ve done since then—including that little game with Elijah—was all under the command of my master, Noah."
Lucius shuddered. His black eyes flicked to Noah, who sat calmly on the bed, gently stroking Neko as she purred in his lap. His entire presence radiated peace, serenity, even love.
But Lucius knew better.
’He’s a devil!’ he screamed inwardly.
He wasn’t just some eccentric genius. He was the puppeteer pulling everyone’s strings. Even Elijah’s affection for Leona—was that part of the game too? Was everything calculated?
He inhaled deeply, trying to calm his racing heart.
"So," Leona said in her silky voice, "have you come to terms with your situation?"
"Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it," she added, stepping closer. "And you’ll come to love it. Especially once you get a taste of the kind of power my master just showed you."
Her face was now only inches from his.
"He said he’d make you like him. A being with that strange erasing power. Or are you doubting him?" Her red eyes shimmered with a dangerous light. freewёbnoνel.com
"Look at me," she whispered. "Do I look like a simple demon?"
That’s when Lucius noticed it—Leona had changed.
Her hair had turned pitch black. Her horns, once ordinary, now looked like a fusion of demonic and draconic forms—twisting with primal energy. Her aura was deeper now. Like a corrupted abyss.
"You... What have you become?" he asked, though a part of him already knew the answer.
"I’m something new," she said proudly. "The first hybrid dragon-demon in this world. The Matriarch of my kind."
She grinned, revealing razor-sharp draconic teeth.
"All thanks to my master—who made me this way."
She stepped forward and tapped a single finger to his forehead.
"Corruptive Blood."
"AARGHH—!" Lucius screamed, collapsing to his knees. Dark veins pulsed under his skin as blood boiled from within.
"You’ve got one minute," Leona said, completely unbothered, seating herself on a shadowy throne that appeared beneath her. "Resist, and your blood will be corrupted beyond saving."
Noah watched the scene unfold with a smirk of satisfaction—like a mentor watching his pupil execute a lesson to perfection.
Truly satisfying.
Lucius coughed violently, spitting dark blood. There was no time to debate. No room for pride.
He didn’t want to die.
He wanted power. The kind of power that could erase anything. And if being with Noah is the only way to obtain it...then so be it.
There is no reason to hesitate.
"I... I accept!" he cried.
Instantly, the pain vanished.
"See?" Leona smiled sweetly. "That wasn’t so hard."
She spun toward Noah, eyes gleaming. "Master, how did I do? I copied your style exactly! Just like what you did with me!"
Noah’s lips twitched. "Don’t say that so loudly—you’ll ruin my reputation."
He leaned back lazily. "If anyone asks, just say you learned from an expert."
Then his smirk softened. "You did great. I’m proud of you."
Leona’s face lit up with pure joy, her previous bloodthirstiness completely replaced by childlike pride.
Noah turned to Lucius and handed him a soul contract, sealed in dark runes and etched in silver.
"Here. A gift personally crafted by the Queen of Souls herself."
He smiled. "Don’t bother reading it. Just sign it. It’s a rite of passage in our little group—have some trust."
Lucius didn’t dare hesitate. He signed.
