The Ten-Tailed's domain stretched out. In the blink of an eye, Shannon appeared at the mystic school where Mike had been.
The room still bore traces of array energy but was now completely empty. Both Mike's and Lexi's presences had vanished the moment the phone call ended.
Shannon knew this sensation all too well.
She recalled the day the clan barrier opened. Mike had shown up alongside Kai and excitedly shouted about deciphering an array.
Linking that to his research over the past two years, Shannon had a vague idea. "An array that connects to the alternate world…"
Her gaze swept across the four interlinked arrays on the floor. She could faintly recognize one of them having the same array patterns as the Rift barrier they'd studied.
Whether it was this or the earlier Rift array, both shared Ghost Mist's The Rift as the base model.
As for the other, it was another Ghost Mist array Kai and Cornelius had once discovered at the bottom of a lake. Mike had combined the two for joint research and developed two more.
But if these arrays were connected to the alternate world, where had Mike and Lexie gone?
As a parallel world, the alternate world wouldn't allow individuals from this world to enter freely, even if a portal were opened.
Unless…
Mike hadn't just connected to the alternate world but also exploited a glitch that prevented identical existences from appearing in both worlds. That allowed individuals from this world to enter a parallel world like the alternate world.
As the thought crossed her mind, Shannon looked down at the four interlinked arrays, and her gaze grew increasingly somber.
Just then, Benjamin's golden light shimmered in the room alongside his appearance. Behind him, Albern and Elliot followed.
Clearly, they'd also detected something strange on Mike's side and followed that energy over.
After Shannon relayed the contents of the phone call, Albern's expression turned grim.
