After dinner, Eddie took Macaron downstairs for a walk and left the rest of the apartment to Fennec and the others.

This world's Eddie was just an ordinary human. He didn't have Freya's backing, and though Fennec was dating him, she'd never revealed anything about being a half-demon.

Mike and Lexie updated her on everything that had happened over the past two years in their world.

"That was my array! Though it takes four interlinked arrays to open the portal to the alternate world, each individual array has its function."

He didn't care whether Fennec could fully understand him because he was far too excited to share the array logic.

"The one Shannon used to reach you must've been the Echo Array. It establishes communication with the alternate world, but it can't transport people.

"There's also the Conduit Array, which can randomly transfer objects between worlds. We discovered this while studying the Rift barrier. I once lost a bunny I placed in the array, and it just vanished…"

He'd gone to considerable effort back then, trying to trace where the bunny had gone. It was only after linking the array to the alternate world that Ghost Mist's malevolent array started making sense.
