Kendall had done many terrible things in the past such as smuggling precious plants and animals, even human organs. Only in the past few years when the country started cracking down on illegal businesses was he forced to turn to legal import and export shipment.
However, he was still connected to many underworld organizations.
Without barely giving it any thought, Suzanne icily refused Cindy. "I won't do it."
A person like Kendall deserved to rot in hell. Why should she save him?
Cindy was taken aback. She looked at Suzanne incredulously and asked, "Why?"
She thought that getting Suzanne to help was a sure thing, since she had already told Suzanne that she could name her price.
Suzanne looked grim as she walked past Cindy, saying, "I don't have to explain myself. I just won't do it."
This was her bottom line. If she were to rescue evil people, what was the point of her learning medicine? What about all the people who lost their lives because of Kendall?
Suzanne could not be bothered to continue with Cindy and headed straight to her car.
Cindy was not going to give up that easily. She had finally found Suzanne, and she was not going to take no for an answer.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she ran to Suzanne and hugged her arm, begging, "Dr. Smith, my father is dying. I beg you—please save him. I'll kneel in front of you."
Jane was Cindy's only hope. If Jane refused, Kendall was as good as dead.
Suzanne said nothing, and she did not even look at Cindy. She got in her car and drove off, leaving Cindy kneeling alone on the ground.
Cindy looked at Suzanne's car with tears falling down her face. There had to be another way to convince her!
She wiped away her tears, thinking that perhaps she was not sincere enough. Jane was such a legendary doctor, so she surely had a huge ego. She was going to go all out to butter up to Jane for her father's sake!
Seline and Tanya, who were both working late, witnessed the entire incident. Seline crossed her arms and said in displeasure, "How arrogant Suzanne has become."
