Chapter 88
Yasmine lay quietly in bed. Her face was slightly pale, but she was fully conscious.
Her gaze fell on Felicia, who was sitting at her bedside with a worried expression, With a gentle smile, Yasmine said, “Mom, I’m really fine. I’ll be better in a few days, so don’t worry.
Gazing at Yasinine, Felicia gently patted her arm in reassurance. “Yes, of course you’ll be fine.”
She turned slightly and palled a tiny figure standing beside her closer.
The little girl, only five years old, was as cute as a burton.
Her slightly chubby cheeks seemed to invite a pinch, and her round, big eyes were full of concern as she looked at Yasmine in the hospital bed.
Emma Stanton stepped forward and held Yasinine’s hand. Tilting her head, she said in a soft, cute voice, “Mominy, you’re going to get better. After you’re better, Daddy will take us to Happyland to see the princesses.”
tr that moment, Yasmine’s usually sharp and resolute gaze softened.
She reached out to gently touch Erma’s head, softly answering, “Alright. Mommy and Daddy will take you then ”
Emma nodded obediently.
Aaron Stanton beckoned to the little girl. “Emma, let your mommy rest and get better for now.”
With a nod, Emma ran to Aaron. “Daddy,” she said, clinging to his leg and standing close to his side.
Aaron scooped her up into his arms. His sharp, usually stoic face now bore an expression of deep concern.
His expensive suit was wrinkled, his jawline was shadowed with dark stubble, and his eyes were bloodshot from lack of sleep.
This disheveled version of Aaron was one Yasmine had never seen before.
Lowering her gaze, Yasmine felt a complex swirl of emotions in her heart.
If it weren’t for her illness, she might never have realized just how deeply Aaron cared for her.
Timothy, who had been silent all along, glanced around the room and said in a deep voice, “Alright, everyone should leave now. Staying here won’t help.”
His gaze fell on Aaron, and he continued, “Aaron, you should get some rest. Leave her to us for now.
Felicia also spoke up, her tone filled with concern. “That’s right. Don’t forget that you still have to look after Emma.”
Aaron merely shook his head lightly. “It’s fine. I’m not worried since Mary can take care of her.”
Seeing that she couldn’t persuade him, Felicia sighed inwardly and didn’t say more.
But after a moment, she composed herself and walked forward, greeting politely, “Hello, Mr. Hall,”
