Though my father–in–law remained silent, his gaze on me was utterly sharp.
Covering my slapped cheek. I looked up at my in–laws.
“When did you know about them?”

My mother–in–law was stunned for a second before glancing at my flat. belly with disdain.
“You can’t get pregnant. No matter what, Bonnie is our daughter–in–law.
“Her baby will carry on the Trivett family’s bloodline.”
My father–in–law frowned but didn’t contradict her.
He said, “We were being generous enough letting you marry into our
family.
“Time for you to compromise. If you keep this up, we don’t mind getting. Harlan a new wife.”
In the next second, I smiled and said, “Alright.”
Meanwhile, my tears streamed down my cheeks uncontrollably.
Hearing my response, Harlan instinctively loosened his embrace around Bonnie.
As he was about to walk over to me, she suddenly clutched her belly and whimpered, “It … hurts…”

Harlan gritted his teeth, warning me not to mention a word about the divorce in front of his parents, and walked out.
I was left alone, enduring the mocking, disdainful gazes of the servants.
No need to wait for another two days.
I strode out of the Trivett’s villa and hailed a cab to the hospital.
Before I was wheeled into the operating room, through the ajar door, I saw Harlan hold Bonnie’s hand, his eyes.
He said to her, “I won’t let go again. I will never leave you.”
