- Leaving the Mansion
Lambert stood as a stone statue once again, staring at David's departing figure gloomily.
Looking at Lambert's expression, Alice blamed herself even more. William pulled her into her embrace and left with her in his arms, "You're not allowed to look, you're not allowed to think about it. This is their matter!"
Alice was silent.
"If you don't say it today, then sooner or later they will reveal it to each other!"
William said again, not allowing her to think anymore. Alice forced a smile, and tried her best to convince herself, but she couldn't.
Once the Mansion was under control, Daniel immediately sent people to clean it from top to bottom, preventing the stench of blood from coming out.
"You guys, clean that place up. Do not touch young master's luggage, I will take care of it myself." Daniel commanded others.
Everyone was busy.
"Luggage? Are we leaving?" Alice stood beside Daniel and asked. Daniel turned his head and looked at her in shock, "Alice, why don't you go take a rest?"
"I can't sleep."
In the middle of the night, first was the assassination attempt and then she revealed Lambert's secret. How could she possibly be sleepy right now?
Hearing that, Daniel could not help but let out a sigh, "Madam said that we should avoid too many conflicts regarding the Lancaster family. Since this assassination failed, if we do not leave, the other party would send more assassins over, and there would be no end to it. Furthermore, I have just gone to the Dr. Lambert's study room to ask him about your mental illness. He said that there's no big deal about it and he told you not to worry about it."
"You went to ask Dr. Lambert?"
Alice was startled.
"Yes, I've also asked about it from Young Master, and he agreed to go back."
Daniel said.
"How is Dr. Lambert?" Alice asked worriedly.
"Dr. Lambert looks fine." Daniel did not understand what had happened.
Was he OK?
Alice pursed her lips. They would leave as soon as the sun came out, then Lambert...
As she thought about it, a tall figure walked past them. Alice turned and saw David wearing a mask.
"Brother."
Alice said.
David s paused, he turned his head and said without any emotion, "We just went through an assassination, mother was worried at home, I'm leaving first."
With that, David left without looking back. Alice did not have the chance to say anything.
After thinking for a while, Alice walked towards Lambert's study.
The study door was open.
Alice walked in and Lambert was sitting alone in front of the desk. He was quiet, his normally aloof and proud face was now ashen.
"Dr. Lambert, I came to apologize to you."
Alice walked over and stood in front of the desk as she sincerely spoke.
Hearing this, Lambert sneered. "You are very interesting. You broke into my life so suddenly, and then apologized to me again and again."
He had heard the word 'apologize' too many times.
Outside the window, the sky began to brighten.
Hearing this, Alice blamed herself even more. She clenched her fingers and said, "Dr. Lambert, I'm sorry that I did not keep your secret, but I did not do it on purpose."
"I know you did it to save me."
Lambert said expressionlessly.
At that time, if she hadn't said it like that, he would have already been pushed out by David and killed.
Alice looked at him silently. Lambert didn't blame her?
"William's wife doesn't need to apologize to me. Furthermore, I am not blaming you." Lambert said expressionlessly as he looked at the marks on his wrist. He did not say anything for a long time.
"Brother just left."
Alice said.
Seeing him like this, Alice did not know what else to say. She retreated a few steps and said apologetically, 'Tm really sorry. Dr. Lambert, I've disturbed you this time."
Loyal's life had been peaceful, but it had been turned upside down by them.
After Alice finished speaking, she turned around and walked out. Before she even reached the door, Lambert's voice sounded, "He should be disgusted with me right now."
He was naturally referring to David.
Alice slightly frowned, and raised her head to look at Lambert. "Big bro isn't such a person."
"I should thank you. I have been hesitating on whether I should explain myself and be a person like you and Mr. William." Lambert reached out his hand to touch the wound on his wrist, "If it wasn't for you, I might not even be able to say it out loud next year, let alone hoping for an answer."
"Dr. Lambert!"
"Right now, he is in a hurry to leave. That is the best answer."
Lambert said.
Alice really wanted to say something, but she understood that Lambert was right. David left in such a hurry and being so resolute was the clearest answer, there was no need to say anything else.
"You guys can leave as well." Lambert looked up at her like a patient. "I'm going on a trip."
