Tyler had always been someone who couldn't accept defeat. He had a long-standing crush on Nadine, and when he heard she was going to divorce Brad, no one was happier than him.
However, she kept speaking up for Brad, telling him to leave Brad alone. It felt as if she was saying he was inferior to Brad. How could he possibly accept that?
Enraged, he grasped her hand and demanded, "What does Brad have that I don't? Go on, tell me! Are you so blinded by your love for him that you think no other man can compare to him?
"Listen, Brad is nothing but trash. He's been stringing you along while fooling around with Jean. If that doesn't make him a scumbag, I don't know what does! Yet, for some reason, women like you love guys like him!
"I thought you were smarter than that—that you wouldn't want to share a man with another woman, but I guess I was wrong!"
It was just the two of them in the office. Tyler was so furious he wished he could crack her head open and put some sense back into her.
Nadine was taken aback by Tyler's outburst. She yanked her hand free and stepped back, frowning at him. "What's your problem, Tyler? I have no idea why you're upset. I was only trying to give you some advice.
"If I've said something wrong, I'm more than willing to apologize and take responsibility for my words. However, if you lay a hand on me again, I'll report you for harassment!"
The only reason she said those things was to stop him from provoking Brad. After all, the Sullivans were no match for the Hamiltons.
