Not only was the chairman married now, but he had a child as well… With that said, what would Miss Whitham think of Stefan if he suddenly made an official announcement about his relationship with Xavia?! Surely such an announcement wouldn’t benefit Xavia either!
With all that in mind, Anthony was prompted to say, “…There… has to be a better way, right, Chairman Talton…? After all, if you announce your relationship with Miss Lockhart now, I believe it’ll negatively affect both her as well as your image…”
Raising a slight brow, Stefan simply replied, “…What? When did I ever say that I wanted to make an official announcement about Xavia and me?”
“…Huh? But… if it isn’t Miss Lockhart… Were you actually referring to Miss Whitham…?” said the surprised Anthony in utter disbelief. After all, Anthony knew for a fact that Stefan had no feelings for that woman. In fact, Stefan was even disgusted with Lily! With that in mind, why on earth would he officialize their relationship?
Easily guessing what his secretary was thinking, Stefan then replied, “I’m only doing this to protect Xavia. Now go get it done.”
Upon hearing that, Anthony finally put two and two together. So that’s why he was doing this… Now understanding that the chairman was choosing to suffer, Anthony silently retreated from the scene…
Seeing that, Stefan took his cell phone out and began sending a text to Xavia, stating, ‘I’ll handle the news. For now, just remain in the hotel with Yulia and don’t come out.’
After getting no reply for quite a while, Stefan realized just how late it was. Figuring that she was probably asleep, Stefan then called up his friend—who was in charge of the hotel management—before saying, “Please take good care of the lady in room eighty-eight. Send her all three meals on time, and make sure to only have trustworthy staff do the job.”
“Room eighty-eight… But she’s already checked out.”
“…Checked out?” replied Stefan in slight disbelief. After all, he had made sure that everything was properly arranged before he left.
Sensing Stefan’s confusion, his friend then said, “Indeed. I made sure to handle the checkout since I knew she was her friend. Regardless, I should note that she only left after some lady paid her a visit…”
A… lady? It was at that moment when Stefan finally pieced the bigger picture together. With that, he thanked his friend and hung up before dialing Xavia’s number next. However, it appeared that she had turned her phone off.
This only served to make Stefan even more certain of his assumption. With that, he began making his way to the bedroom…
