Regretting the Wife He Threw Away novel Chapter 641

Briony squeezed her eyes shut as her body plummeted—

Almost in the same instant, two figures lunged toward her—

The next moment, a strong hand clamped around her wrist, yanking her back from the brink. The sensation of falling stopped so abruptly it left her breathless.

She opened her eyes. A man’s sharp, dark gaze was fixed on her, the corners rimmed red with desperation.

Briony’s pupils contracted. “You—you’re insane…”

Stewart, dressed head to toe in black tactical gear, gripped her slender wrist so tightly the veins bulged at his temple. “Bryn, quick—grab my arm with your other hand. Hurry!”

She shook her head, panic rising in her chest. “Let go of me! Ferdinand, he—”

Before she could finish, Stewart grunted in pain.

A knife had slashed into the arm he used to hold her. But even then, Stewart’s hand never loosened.

Ferdinand crouched beside Stewart, a military knife gleaming in his grip.

“So it’s you…” he sneered, voice cold as the grave. “My dear brother. You actually survived.”

Stewart’s face twisted in agony. “Ferdinand, do whatever you want to me, but Bryn is innocent. She doesn’t deserve to die like this. I’m begging you—let her go!”

Ferdinand let out a mocking laugh. “She’d rather die than marry me. I can’t say I’m not disappointed.”

“She saved your life, Ferdinand! Let her go, I’ll do anything you want—”

“Stewart, don’t!” Briony cried out, voice cracking. “I’m sick, I don’t have much time left anyway… Let go. Ferdinand’s lost his mind. He won’t listen to reason—”

“At least Bryn understands me.”

With a vicious swing, Ferdinand plunged the knife into Stewart’s arm again.

Blood spattered across Briony’s face.
