Chapter 11 Aren’t You Her Family?
“Sey. why did you leave like that? You didn’t take Felicia back, and Ambi is going to cause a scene again.”
Yvonne was annoyed to see Seymour give in..
It didn’t bother Seymour that much, but he was very aware that Felicia was currently very irritable.
He just didn’t want to upset her, especially since she had just given birth.
Seymour was someone who valued efficiency. When things couldn’t be agreed upon, he wouldn’t waste any more time.
“Doctor, how is my wife’s recovery going? Her mood isn’t too good. How long does this kind of post–birth emotional shift usually last?”
The doctor rolled her eyes internally but still smiled kindly. “Generally speaking, newly delivered mothers are fragile and sensitive. They’ve been through significant physical and psychological changes, so you need to be understanding.”
“For Ms. Pruitt’s case, her recovery is going quite well. If we wait another two days and there are no signs of infection, she can be discharged. However, after discharge, she must rest well and maintain a good mood. You know, when she gave birth, you weren’t there, and that may have bothered her a lot.”
The doctor had already phrased it very delicately.
Seymour understood. All of Felicia’s emotions were stemming from the fact that he had arrived late that day.

“Okay, thank you, doctor.” Seymour left with Yvonne.
Yvonne still scoffed. “Oh. giving birth isn’t such a big deal. Sey, when I had you, I was able to get off the bed the very same day, and I was discharged in less than three days.
“In my opinion, she’s just being pampered. What do we do now? Do we really have to let Ambi wait two more days?”
Seymour pressed his lips. “Mom, you heard what the doctor said. Ambi’s problem is easy to solve. Being too picky with food isn’t good.
“A few missed meals should fix it.”
On this matter. the couple had reached an agreement.
Their son couldn’t be too spoiled, and Seymour couldn’t stand some of his bad habits, either.
“I’ll have someone find a chef who can make food suitable for kids.”
Yvonne seemed dissatisfied, but there was nothing more she could say.
Once they left. Felicia felt the room’s air clear up again.
Emma had a great way with the baby, and perhaps it was also because Mina had a tender nature. In any case, the two got along well and Mina almost never cried hard.
When the baby slept. Felicia would also take a nap. When the baby woke up. she would have Emma bring her over so she could nurse her
“Mrs. Lucero, after you’re discharged, will you go to a confinement center or rest at home?” Emma asked
Felicia hadn’t decided yet, but wherever she went, she wouldn’t go back to Lucero’s place.
The first time she gave birth, she had gone home to rest. At the time, she naively thought that Seymour would come back every day for the sake of the baby, but instead, he went on a business trip for half a month, leaving her to deal with Yvonne on her own..
Although there were servants at home, she suffered a lot. Ambi had a weak constitution and she was a first–time mother, so she was constantly. worried.
When she asked Yvonne, she was always just brushing her off. She spent 33 days in confinement, yet Yvonne went out with her friends every single day during that time.
Felicia knew the troubles and worries of confinement all too well.
Besides, she was now considering a divorce from Seymour. One more reason for not coming back there.
“Emma, do you have any recommendations if I wanna go to a confinement center?” she asked.
“Mrs. Lucero, actually, with so many servants at your home, you could do confinement at home.”
It was the truth, but unfortunately, she didn’t get along well with the servants at the Lucero family villa.
And then there was Ambi.
With Ambi there, how could she rest properly during confinement?
Thinking of that, she realized she hadn’t called Ambrose once in the past three days. And her son hadn’t even bothered to check on her, either.
But when Mabel sprained her ankle, Ambrose immediately rushed over to visit her. Even when he was under observation in the hospital for an allergy, he didn’t forget to take a photo with his dearest Auntie.
The three of them were like a family. What was the point of going the so- called home?
It seemed she had made up her mind. Felicia smiled and asked, “Emma, do you have any clients later?”
Emma’s heart lifted. “I only work for you now.”
“Alright, Emma, Mina is already familiar with you. Would you like to come back with me to my place for the confinement?” Felicia asked.
“I’d love that, but it seems your mother–in–law doesn’t like me much.”
Emma had overheard, and it seemed that Yvonne wanted to have her replaced.
Felicia smiled. “I’m not going back to my husband’s house. It’s my own small apartment. You’ll only need to take care of the baby. I’ll have someone send my meals, and I’ll also have another maid to help with cleaning and taking care of me. The price will be the same as now. What do you think?”
The nanny grinned. “That sounds perfect, Mrs. Lucero.”
Why not? She had just subtly indicated that she wanted to continue working with her.
Felicia was nice and not picky at all. She knew a lot.
Nannies loved this kind of employer the most.
Emma had been worried that maybe Felicia didn’t have the last word.
But then she realized that she was wrong. Felicia could even change the baby’s surname. She surely wasn’t someone to be bullied.
After everything was arranged, Felicia smiled with satisfaction.
Before marriage, her father had given her an apartment as a dowry. Although it wasn’t as big as a villa, it was enough for her and the baby to live in.
Over the years, she had also saved some money, along with prize money from various competitions during her university years. Together, it had added up.
Once Mina was 100 days old, she planned to return to the lab. As for the Genesis Clinic, she could go there once a week.
‘Mabel, why didn’t you stay in the hospital for another few days? You sprained your ankle,” Edwina asked.
“Mom, I felt like I was going to get moldy in the hospital. Look, I can walk now, though a bit slowly. It’s fine,” Mabel said.
