Chapter 52
Chapter 52
“Sophia, I’ve missed you so much!”
As Sophia sat in the flashy Maybach, the gray–haired guy leaned oward Sophia’s shoulder like a child.
Sophia raised her hand, her slender finger pressing against the guy’s head to avoid his closeness. “Stop it. Did you find out what I asked you to?”
The young man pouted, feeling unhappy about being unable to nuggle up to Sophia.
However, his eyes lit up when he glanced upwards and caught a glimpse of the finger pressing against his head. He rubbed his head against Sophia’s finger, saying, “Ooh, you left me alone for three years, and as soon as you’re back, you put me to work. You don’t know how much I’ve missed you!”
Sophia was speechless.
No one could imagine an eighteen–year–old in an overly sweet voice.
Stylish gray hair, perfectly chiseled features, and puppy dog eyes speaking
“Hudson Myers!” Sophia almost tightened her fists.
With force, she pushed the young man’s head away from her finger and looked at him coldly.
Sophia looked aloof and detached usually, and at that moment, saying nothing with a lazy, condescending gaze, she exuded even more of a queenly vibe.
Hudson was pushed aside, leaning against the car window, appearing upset and gazing pitifully at Sophia.
However, with Sophia’s authoritative presence, he obediently responded, “Sure. That team led by Xenia is indeed collaborating with our research institute because their team consists of renowned experts in the field and is backed by the Yeats Family, providing us with ample resources… Another reason is that the team leader is Professor Williams.”
‘Professor Williams?‘ Sophia wondered.
“Owen Williams?” Sophia narrowed her eyes.
“Yes, that’s him. He is now the president of Perino’s Traditional Medicine Association.” Hudson moved his face away from the car window. “Xenia often calls herself a disciple of Professor Williams and almost sees our research institute as her own. If it weren’t for Professor Williams… ahem, mainly for the sake of the Yeats Family, and since she hasn’t crossed the line, we just let her be.”
As he spoke, he suddenly blinked and leaned towards Sophia. “Did she… show off right in front of you?”
When Xenia mentioned her team’s cooperation with Mr. Young’s research institute, she looked like she was saying Mr. Young’s pharmaceutical research institute was run by her.
Sophia chuckled. “I ran into her when I went to treat Andrew Years.”
“No wonder you were just at the State Hospital. I thought you were there to see that fool of the Baker Family…” Hudson blurted out. He immediately covered his mouth and stepped back. “Oh no! Ignore what I just said!”
Sophia glanced at Hudson but did not explode in anger as he had imagined.

She had nothing to be angry about.

After all, over the past three years, she had been the one chasing after Ethan, earning such a reputation, so it was normal for others to misunderstand.
Hudson was the eldest son of the Myers Family in Virclia. He has been interested in traditional medicine since childhood and was gifted. She taught him a lot a few years ago.
He had been helping with work at her pharmaceutical research institute all those years.
Although he was only 18, he had won several international awards for pharmaceutical research.
Sophia didn’t expect that her “bootlicking” stories in Virelia had reached even Hudson, who cooped himself up in the research institute day and night.
Hudson hurriedly changed the topic. “By the way, Sophia, so you went to treat Andrew Yeats? How did Mr. Yeats manage to invite you?”
Sophia stated succinctly, “He’s my friend.”
Hudson clicked his tongue. “Oh, if so, Mr. Yeats should’ve invited you to treat his grandpa right from the start. How could Xenia have had the chance to flaunt her ability there?”
‘So what if she graduated from a prestigious foreign university with a doctorate?
If it hadn’t been for her connection with Professor Williams, which led to her collaboration with Sophia’s research institute, what right did she have to be arrogant?
How dare she show off in front of Sophia?
If I ever ran into that woman again, I’d land a couple of punches on her.
Anyway, I just turned 18!‘ Hudson thought.
Amidst Hudson’s endless chatter, they arrived at Sophia’s pharmaceutical research institute.
Sophia got out of the car and looked up at the place she hadn’t set foot in for three years. Her long eyelashes fluttered slightly.
Back then, she established the pharmaceutical research institute because of Owen’s persistent pleas.
Owen was a medical enthusiast who devoted his entire life to traditional medicine, and he indeed led it onto the international stage and brought honor to the country.
Now that he was older, his greatest wish was to see traditional medicine continue to be passed down.
That was why he had persistently asked Sophia to establish the traditional herbal medicine research institute, hoping Sophia could develop more excellent and effective herbal pills.
Sophia had devoted a lot of effort to the pharmaceutical research institute.
“Ms.-Ms. Stewart…”
An old, excited voice came from within the research institute.
