Chapter 56
“Aren’t you doing well as the president?” Sophia didn’t have much interest in the so–called position of president of the Traditional Medicine Association.
Owen shook his head and said, “I’m just the acting president. In hy mind, only you are worthy of that position.”
The Traditional Medicine Association symbolized Perino’s tradional medicine and represented Perino internationally, so it should be led by the most capable person.
In Owen’s mind, no one in Perino, or even the world, could surpass Sophia’s medical skills.
Sophia was only twenty years old.
But her talent surpassed that of all geniuses, and calling her a genius would be an insult to her!
She was a born medical prodigy, someone who could fundamentally elevate and propel Perino’s medicine industry.
Before meeting Sophia, Owen grew up bathed in glory from a young age, with medical talent and achievements unmatched in Perino, and he once saw himself as the savior of Perino’s medicine industry.
However, when he met Sophia, who was only fourteen at the time, his self–perception built over decades was completely shattered.
Sophia used her own strength to show him what it meant by “there’s always someone better“.
He was so impressed with Sophia that he was utterly convinced, kneeling down on the spot, begging Sophia to be his master.
Sophia was the one truly worthy of the highest position in Perino’s medical history.
Owen did not think he deserved it.
“In terms of qualifications, you are more suitable than me.” Sophia waved her hand and added, “In today’s society, everyone tends to trust modern medicine more, because reliable traditional medical practitioners are rare to find, and people’s first impression of a traditional medical practitioner is always measured by age and experience. So you should continue as the president.”
Owen was prestigious internationally; his awards and honors could fill a whole wall.
Having credentials and skills was the most convincing.
If Sophia took the position, she would inevitably face countless doubts even if Owen fully supported her and provided all kinds of evidence to prove that she was qualified to do that.
Xenia and those authoritative experts in her team would be great examples.
Seeing her so young, none of them would believe she had the capability.
So, to Sophia, being the president of the Traditional Medicine Association was equivalent to asking for trouble.,
She had no interest in tormenting herself.
Professor Williams was about to say something when Hudson chimed in, “Alright, Professor Williams, Sophia doesn’t like being tied down. Since she’s unwilling, you’d better stop nagging her, or else you’ll drive her away, and I’ll blame you for it!”

Professor Williams was speechless.
I’ll do as you say.
What do you mean by glaring at me like this?
I’m your direct superior anyway!
You just want to take Sophia away from me!

After not seeing her for three years, I have a lot of questions to ask her. How could I let you have your way?‘ Professor Williams thought.
“I’ve got time recently. If you have any questions, just call me.” Sophia seemed to have seen through Professor Williams‘ thought. “You can continue as the president of the Traditional Medicine Association. Hudson will take over your position later, so why the rush?”
Professor Williams glanced disdainfully at Hudson. “Counting on him? I’d rather hope I can live a bit longer.”
Seeing Sophia’s attitude, he realized he couldn’t persuade her.
He sighed and could only choose to compromise. “I better continue researching these new pills.”
Professor Williams then left.
Hudson lay prone on Professor Williams‘ desk, looking up to reveal his handsome face. He blinked his bright eyes and said, “Sophia, I heard you moved out of the residence of the Stewart Family. Would you like to stay at my place? I’ve bought a villa near the research institute, and it’s super big!”
Sophia glanced at him and replied, “Aren’t you cooped up at the research institute every day, immersing yourself in work? How do you have time to pay attention to my personal affairs?”
“Nothing is more important than your matters. No matter how busy I am, I have to keep track of your updates,” Hudson replied with an expression resembling that of a loyal puppy.

Sophia raised an eyebrow. “Then you that I’ve been exchanged back with the true daughter of the Stewart Family. I have my own home.”
“But… didn’t that girl from the Stewart Family always proclaim that the place you moved to is a slum?” Hudson looked worried. “How can you live in a place like that?”
After all, he wasn’t short of money.
He could afford a house anywhere she wanted!
The fair–skinned young man straightened up and patted his chest vigorously. “Sophia, I’m good enough now to give you a good life on my own!”
Sophia looked him in the eye. His eyes were bright and sparkled with a bit of hopeful anticipation.
She chuckled and said, “I know you’re quite capable, having already become Professor Williams‘ heir. However, I’m living well in my home, and my family is nice, so I don’t plan to move out.”
The light in Hudson’s eyes suddenly extinguished.

He wore a long face, pouting, looking at Sophia with a pitiful expression. “I thought I could gain an advantage being so close by.”
