“What’s wrong? Are you not free tomorrow?” Tristan keenly noticed Sophia’s momentary distraction. 

Then, his long and dense lashes drooped forlornly, and his eyes were misted. “I heard there will be many rare medicinal herbs at tomorrow night’s auction, so I wanted to invite you to take a look. If there’s any herb that could help my grandfather’s condition, we could secure it early.” 

Even through the screen, Sophia could sense that Tristan seemed upset, his excessively long and dense lashes unable to hide the disappointment in his eyes. 

So Sophia reflexively replied, “I’m free.” 

Tristan lifted his head, his eyes so bright as he gazed intently at Sophia.

The well–chiseled face disappeared from the screen, but that burning sensation lingered. 

Sophia suddenly placed her phone face down on the table and raised her hands to pat her face.
