Ethan couldn’t light the cigarette. 

He felt even more irritated. 

Finally, he angrily stuffed the cigarette and lighter back into the drawer. 

I must be crazy. 

Or why would I keep thinking of Sophia for no reason?

The screen lit up for a moment. 

Ethan frowned but just ignored it. 

But soon after, the notification sound rang out repeatedly. 

Ethan’s initial irritation suddenly faded at that moment as he sharply stared at the phone that wouldn’t stop beeping. 

He was suddenly excited. 

“Only Sophia… only she would send me so many messages. 

It must be her!‘ he wondered.

But when he found out that the 12 unread WhatsApp messages were from Henry, the light in his eyes instantly dimmed. 

His heart sank heavily in that instant too, 

It’s not her. 

It’s Henry. 

Why did he send me so many messages at this time, knowing I’m in the hospital?‘ Ethan wondered. 

He frowned and clicked open the chat box. 

Scrolling up quickly, he found two photos sent by Henry. 

The unpreviewed thumbnails were quite blurry, but he recognized at a glance that the second photo vaguely showed Sophia’s silhouette.

His fingers trembled as he quickly clicked open the second photo 

Under the dazzling lights, Sophia dressed in a hoodie, with her hair in a high ponytail, her face delicate, was half–kneeling on the luxurious leather sofa. 

Beneath her, Tristan in a white shirt and black trousers, tall and graceful, his face hot, leaned lazily against the sofa back, letting Sophia lean on him. 

With a faint smile on his finely chiselled features, his hazel eyes were bright, and his fingers rested on Sophia’s slender waist. 

They were so close, their eyes meeting, full of lingering tenderness 

It seemed like they would kiss the next moment. 

They looked so intimate in the photo. 

Ethan suddenly tightened his grip on his phone, and his expression became tense and ashen in an instant, his eyes chilly. 

‘Sophia and Tristan! 

What are they doing? 

Is she… is she really with him?‘ Ethan wondered. 

His breathing became rapid.

Yet, right under the eyes of everyone, Sophia leaned on Tristan.
