Xandra felt weak all over and collapsed into Mary’s arms. Her face was ashen, her lips trembling, unable to make a sound.
She just watched as Tristan turned, lifted his steps, and entered the manor.
He never looked back at her again.
He never gave her a glance.
Kneeling for as long as three hours, and experiencing such emotional turmoil.
Xandra only felt a rush of dizziness. Her eyelids rolled, and she fainted softly.
“Miss? Miss? What’s wrong with you? Don’t scare me… don’t scare me!”
Mary looked at Xandra, who had fainted, her face as pale as paper.
She called Xandra’s name while looking up at Tristan as he walked into the manor. Her voice grew louder, trying to let Tristan know that Xandra had fainted.
She still held a bit of hope.
She was hoping that Tristan still had feelings for Xandra.
This way… everything she did today wouldn’t be in vain!
Just thinking about Tristan’s attitude toward Xandra, and the words he said to her.
Even she felt a surge of dizziness.
She stood on the side of the miss.
Wasn’t it just because the miss had a better chance of winning his heart?
If… the miss lost Mr. Yeats, and now she argued with Sophia so much that they couldn’t even enter the Roscente Family.
Then she… wouldn’t she…
In the manor.
Sophia finished breakfast with her grandpa. She was nestled on the sofa, holding a pillow, doodling on the tablet in her hand.
Edward sat on another sofa reading newspapers.
They appeared to be enjoying a peaceful moment.
At that moment, Butler Walter hurriedly came in, casting a furtive glance at Sophia before looking at his old master, appearing as if he had something to say but hesitated.
Mr. Roscenre frowned, “If you have something to say, say it.”
“Mr. Yeats, he is here,” Butler Walter said, glancing at Sophia with the corner of his eye.
Mr. Roscenre was taken aback and set the newspaper down, “This early?”

Chapter 99
Last night, Tristan did call him in advance to say he would visit.
But he didn’t expect it to be so early in the morning.
In such a hurry?
Mr. Roscenre felt Butler Walter’s occasional glances at Sophia were strange, and he frowned even more, “If he’s here, let h in.”
After a brief pause, he suddenly looked at Sophia.
The girl was dressed in simple loungewear, a white T–shirt paired with black casual pants, and her ink–black hair was casu held with a claw clip at the back of her head, with a few strands hanging loosely.
He thought for a moment, “Darling, go upstairs and change your clothes; we have a guest.”
Upon hearing the words “Mr. Yeats,” Sophia looked up at Butler Walter, her exquisitely painted eyebrows furrowing slightl
Mr. Yeats?
Could it be… Tristan?
What’s he doing here?
Sophia recalled that her grandfather referred to Tristan as “Tris” before, suggesting their families had a good relationship. Maybe he came to discuss something with Grandpa?
If he’s looking for him, why ask her to change clothes?
Sophia lifted the tablet, spread her arms, and looked down at herself, “There’s nothing wrong with my outfit.”
Everything’s properly covered, nothing exposed. There’s no reason why she can’t be seen, right?
Mr. Roscenre looked at his granddaughter with some helplessness.
The granddaughters of other families always dressed themselves up flamboyantly. Why did his granddaughter always remain… so basic?
An entire closet was prepared for her, filled with the most fashionable styles and brands of the time.
Yet, every day she wore either a T–shirt or a hoodie.
It was truly difficult to see his beloved granddaughter transform into a little princess.
He sighed helplessly. “After all, he is a guest, dressing up nicely…
The words just came out.
He suddenly frowned. “Forget it, don’t change, just stay like this.”
This was his cherished granddaughter, the precious granddaughter he had just brought back. Was it necessary to dress beautifully for another man?
What if…
What if Tristan fell for his precious granddaughter?
His little princess had just returned to his family. He definitely couldn’t let his little princess be stole by a little brat!

Chapter 99
Although… His looks couldn’t really be called a brat.
But, no man was a good thing; they were all bastards!
Edward completely failed to realize that he had insulted himself too.
Sophia was curious.
She didn’t quite understand why her grandfather was being so contradictory and had such an expression of happiness and sadness on his face.
And Butler Walter, after conveying the message, did not leave the hall or go outside to welcome the incoming Tristan. Instead, he remained standing there with a strange expression, wanting to speak but holding back.
Mr. Roscenre took off his reading glasses and snapped at Butler Walter, “What else is there?”
Butler Walter glanced at Sophia again before cautiously speaking, “Mr. Yeats brought Young Master Gary with him… together.”
Gary?
Mr. Roscenre’s face suddenly turned extremely unpleasant.
He instantly thought of the last time his granddaughter didn’t come home all night, and it wasn’t until five in the morning that she returned. She was in the car of Gary.
Wasn’t he the one who was trying to steal his granddaughter?
He actually dared to come to the door willingly?
Let’s see if I don’t beat him up!
Mr. Roscenre’s face instantly turned fierce as he rubbed the jade ring on his thumb, as if considering which cane would hurt more when used to hit someone.
“Also, “Butler Walter sneaked another glance at Sophia, “when Mr. Yeats and Young Master Gary were at the door, they encountered… Miss Xandra.”
Sophia was speechless.
Why did Butler Walter have to look at her after every sentence?
So what if Tristan came?
He was obviously here for Grandpa, what did it have to do with her?
As for Xandra… so what if she was there, so what if she met Tristan, it had nothing to do with her either.
onnection.
With those sneaky and cautious glances, anyone who didn’t know better would think she and Tristan had some unspeakable
t was precisely this thought.
hat made Sophia’s mind instantly flash to the scene.., in the hospital, when she faced Tristan up close.
‘he man’s pure, cool, woody fragrance seemed to still linger around her.
he warm, soft touch of his lips seemed to still linger on hers.

Sophia only felt her ears heat up, and a rush of warmth surged to her head.
Her sharp change was naturally noticed by Mr. Roscenre.
His cold eyes suddenly sharpened, and his knuckles pressed against the jade ring on his thumb, his face turning even more unsightly.
Sure enough…
That Gary was no good!
He even dared to flirt with his granddaughter!
Get the cane! Get the cane!
He must beat that brat to death later, for flirting with his beloved granddaughter!
Mr. Roscenre was furious, “Encountering her is fine, wouldn’t that brat dare bring Xandra in here?”
Butler Walter already felt the intense murderous intent, shrunk his neck, and quickly said, “That is naturally impossible, they have always been… very indifferent to Miss Xandra.”
“As long as he didn’t bring her in, then why are you stammering here?” Mr. Roscenre glared at him coldly.
Butler Walter was even more frightened, “It’s just that… Miss Xandra was kneeling at the manor’s gate before dawn and happened to be caught by them, who then… just infuriated her until she fainted. She was just taken to the hospital by Mary.”
Mr. Roscenre said, “Hah, if she wants to kneel, let her kneel, even if she kneels to death, no one will care about her. Does she really think she’s someone important?”
Wasn’t she just trying to stay in their family with ulterior motives, trying to snatch things from Sophia?
If it weren’t for the fact that Xandra’s father indeed took a fatal blow for his eldest son, he really wouldn’t want to see such a person jumping around in front of him.
The Roscenre Family would only belong to Sophia alone.
How could a pheasant dare compete with Sophia?
“Grandpa is right.”
Suddenly, a low, lazy, magnetic chuckle rippled through the spacious and luxurious hall.
Instantly, he caught Sophia’s ear.
It made her heart flutter anew, recalling how she was kissed by Tristan in the hospital.
Sophia instinctively clutched the pillow in her arms tightly, bit her red lips, and looked up, meeting that aloof, celestial–like, and handsome face.
The man wore a black suit, looking elegant and noble. His thin lips curved into a polite smile, and his deep, inky eyes first fell gently on Mr. Roscenre, nodding slightly.
Then he gradually shifted towards Sophia.
Their eyes met.
In those ink–black eyes, ripples seemed to spread out in layers.

Sophia’s heart suddenly skipped a beat.
But the man’s gaze lingered on her for only two seconds before his politely smiling lips curved into a somewhat unclear but mischievous smirk.
Sophia’s heart seemed to be tickled by something.
Why was he smiling?
Without waiting for her to probe deeper.
The man had already started his long, straight legs towards her grandfather, “Grandpa, it’s been a long time, how have you been lately?”
Mr. Roscenre, hearing Tristan’s first words upon entering, could probably guess that when Tristan entered the gate just now, something unpleasant happened between him and Xandra.
He knew, over the years, Xandra had some thoughts towards Tristan, wanting to secure her position through marriage with him.
However…
A few years ago, her entanglement with Tristan annoyed him so much that he personally came over to dissolve the engagement between the two families.
Just now, at the gate, Xandra must have entangled him again.
Mr. Roscenre’s expression softened slightly, and he raised his hand to beckon Tristan, “Thank you for your concern, I’m quite good now, come, sit by my side.”
Tristan curved his lips and unbuttoned his suit, taking a seat on the sofa opposite Mr. Roscenre.
Just right, to his right, was Sophia.
His movements were elegant and noble, and after sitting down, he slightly rolled up his sleeves, revealing a section of a finely crafted yet very powerful arm.
Sophia’s gaze landed on his well–defined arm.
For some reason, her heart suddenly pounded wildly.
It seemed that when they were in the hospital, he used this hand to prop himself up on the back of the chair beside her.
At that time, it was also delicate and strong
Sophia was at a loss for words.
Ah! What she was thinking about!
Was she crazy?
As soon as she saw Tristan, she couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened in the hospital.
It was…
Like she was under a spell!
Sophia pressed the tip of her tongue against her chin and glared at Tristan angrily.
