The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter novel Chapter 404

Chapter 404: ARE YOU AFRAID?

"I don’t agree to cooperate," Lou said smugly, as he smirked at Cane, who finally met his eyes. "I don’t think the deal will benefit me."

There he was, trying to provoke Cane again with his antics.

"Sir Lou, I don’t get it. Which part do you think won’t benefit you?" Alpha Dristan asked politely, but Cane could sense he was going to lose his patience with this merchant.

It had nothing to do with the deal, it was just Lou being difficult on purpose.

"Alpha Dristan, can you leave us alone for a while?"

"I have explained to him in a simple way," Alpha Dristan retorted, thinking Cane assumed his method of explanation was not good enough to make the merchant understand what they were trying to offer to him.

"It’s okay. A simple way from you still seems too difficult for him to understand, therefore, you should lower yourself to the level of his way of thinking," Cane said calmly, as if he was not insulting the merchant openly right now.

Alpha Dristan was surprised with the way Cane talked about Lou and when he looked at the merchant, he was sure the latter would have shifted into a beast if he was a shifter. Lou’s expression was beyond dark.

Was it alright to talk like that about this merchant in such a way when they needed him to accomplish this project? They just discovered this tunnel and it was Cane who made up his mind to continue building this shortcut to the Crystal Moon pack.

But, with all those monsters around the Goffa mountain, this project would be stuck, just like when it was under the command of Alpha Gill. It would only be a waste of time and resources without the help of this merchant.

"Leave us for a while," Cane said before Alpha Dristan could interrupt him again.

Still clueless about what Cane was going to talk to the merchant, Dristan left them alone. They were in the middle of this vast land, so he simply returned to his own carriage.

Meanwhile, Lou was very irritated with how Cane had underestimated his intelligence. Wasn’t he too much? This alpha must know that he only teased him.

Unfortunately, Cane was not in a good mood. His mood was never good whenever he was in his presence.

"Which part is not good enough for your own benefit?" Cane cut straight to the point. His patience was running thin with every second he spent with him.

"I think you are intelligent enough to know that’s not the problem here," Lou said, he looked so proud of himself to be able to jab Cane with his words, after what he had said to him earlier.

"You are just wasting my time. Take it or leave it." Cane didn’t fall into his game, as he took back the control over this conversation, steering it back to the main issue here.

On the other hand, Lou’s smile fell, he looked at the Alpha disdainfully. "You know I am going to take this." The benefits he would get from it were far too tempting for his greedy ass. "But, I want to ask you one question."
