Chapter 453: PLOT AND PROMISE

"You don’t need to drag me here, you know!" Redmond glared at Avid. This warrior had dragged him out of the bar before he could finish his second bottle, thus Redmond was sober enough to know where they would go. "I don’t want to go to the pack house!" He growled.

"Oh! Shut up! Why are you whining so much!?" Avid couldn’t take it anymore and snapped at him.

Strangely enough, Redmond didn’t talk back and only grumbled here and there, while he shook Avid’s hand off of his shoulder. "I can walk on my own!" He said viciously and Avid rolled his eyes.

"I only want you to know, if you dare to run away, I will ask all the warriors to hunt you down like a dog and drag your ass back to the pack house!"

Redmond scrunched his nose in disdain. "I don’t know that you can swear like that."

"Oh, shut up."

Probably this was Redmond’s curse, because he would end up bickering with whoever he was with, especially right now when he was in a very bad mood.

He seemed to know why Cane called him over to the pack house and he couldn’t ignore it like he did with Iris, the Alpha would give him hell if he dared to do that.

Now, after he spent a lot of time observing Cane, he became less and less confrontational with him, as he realized, the Alpha only tolerated his behavior for the sake of his mate and because he was still useful for him, but then, no matter how useful Redmond was, Cane could replace him with a snap of his fingers if he wanted.

Grumbling, Redmond dragged his feet to the pack house, where the dinner party with Haco performing his magic continued to happen.

Haco would have adamantly refused to be introduced in this welcoming party to the King if he knew he would be left to his own devices without Cane there. Because that was not what he agreed to.

Cane promised to be there, though everything would be up to Haco, knowing the cunning alpha was around , it would help ease his mind, especially when he had to face the other dark magic user. As of now, they were pretty sure Lady Cyan was using dark magic.

Therefore, once Haco saw Cane walk out of the room with Iris in his tow and noticed the room full of people, his heart sank. He hated to be the center of attention and here he was! Falling straight for the Alpha’s trick again!

It was either he was too weak to hold his ground to refuse Cane’s idea, or it was the Alpha who looked very convincing even when he didn’t say anything at all.

Haco would love to cuss Cane out when he saw him, but right now, he had a task on his shoulders to be accomplished.

"My King, My Lady, allow me to introduce myself as the new sorcerer for the Howling Wolf pack," Haco said, as he knelt down in front of the King and his mistress. He was close enough to them.

"So, Cane found a sorcerer for his pack..." King Aeon nodded, staring at the very old man before his eyes. He was not threatened by this, because he didn’t think the sorcerer before him was someone powerful. Haco looked so fragile and was very old to be considered a threat. He would probably die in a few years, since magic users didn’t have a long lifespan like shifters.

Lady Cyan on the other hand, narrowed her eyes at the sorcerer, no one knew what was in her mind when she furrowed her brows deeply. Her expression became very serious, she didn’t even try to put up a front.

"Yes, My King, and I am here to entertain you all with my magic, as a humble gift from me to be allowed to be part of this pack." If they knew Haco well enough, they would know these were not the words that he would say at all. Unfortunately for them, they didn’t know the old sorcerer.

"Good! Good!" King Aeon clapped his hands, he was about to leave the room when Cane left with Iris. "What are you going to do?"

Haco shifted his attention to Lady Cyan. "In that case, I would like to invite Lady Cyan to participate in this performance, if you don’t mind," he said clearly.

"Great!" King Aeon looked more than happy to be entertained. One thing about him that not many people knew was, he liked magic. The King was the only king in history, who had his own team of royal sorcerers and built a tower for them, making them part of his court. "Go over there and help the old man, Cyan!" King Aeon said excitedly.
