After killing the traitor, Redmond didn’t immediately go back to the safety of the fortress, instead, he shifted into his beast and charged forward.
Damn those people who had betrayed him and even entertained the idea of sneaking behind his back. They thought they could corner him into agreeing to something that they hid from him in the first place.
They didn’t heed his words at all by joining Lyle in this messed up campaign with the royal warriors.
"Damn it!" Jace growled loudly when he watched how Redmond started to attack those beasts that came at him. Pure anger radiated through his whole body, as he didn’t back down at all, though he was alone at the frontlines. "Is he on a suicide mission?!"
Jace saw his reckless action as stupidity, but there was no way he would let that mad warrior fight this battle alone, as he jumped down from the fortress and landed in his beast form. He charged forward as well to assist Redmond, while the rest of the Howling Wolf warriors followed him.
Many of them jumped from the fortress and landed in their beast forms. They used the momentum to speed toward the battle that was going to happen. This was unavoidable.
Thankfully, what Redmond did had declined their morale and they were a little bit wary of him, as he fought three beasts at the same time. He became the commander of the Blue Moon warriors not for nothing, for he lived up to his title.
He was furious and felt so betrayed.
=========================
"Father..." Lady Cyan called him. She looked helpless, like a little child, who yearned for a little bit of attention from their parents. "Father... we need to go... we need to leave this place, this doesn’t look good."
Lady Cyan was scared of her surroundings. She looked around and felt this dreadful feeling creep into her chest as this black wisp looked like a bad omen for her. She bit her lip to suppress her fear.
"Let’s find the woman... I think his mate is more valuable," she said in a small voice, trying to give her opinion on this matter. She had not yet explained to her father about what happened and how Iris had resisted her curse, but her father simply didn’t want to listen to her, as he deemed his useless daughter’s opinion second best to the matter at hand.
"Shut your fucking mouth!" He hollered at his daughter, which made Lady Cyan flinch. She was no longer a child, she had power of her own in her hands, but still, she feared her father the most. "You are the one who has created this mess! Useless!"
Lady Cyan lowered her head, she balled her fists tightly beside her body, as she said nothing.
Meanwhile, her father looked like he was going to collapse anytime soon. He looked so pale, as a result of how much he forced himself to keep going, though his power depleted rapidly.
On the other hand, Cane was still in the same position. He fixed his eyes on the dark sorcerer, but he would occasionally glance at Lady Cyan and the King, who had been forgotten during this whole ordeal. He looked like an odd ornament in the middle of this mess, since he didn’t do anything and was still sitting on his horse, which was exceptionally calm as well.
"Kill him!" The dark sorcerer said through his gritted teeth. Killing the lycan’s vessel would weaken him as well, now the Alpha was barely able to sit straight.
Lady Cyan was afraid, the magic that her father performed right now was on a whole different level from her own and she didn’t want to get caught in it. She didn’t dare to approach Cane, but she didn’t want to use magic on him either, since it could get tangled with the magic that her father was performing.
"Kill him, you idiot! What are you waiting for? New year?!" The old man barked at her slowness. "Stupid! I can’t believe I have such a stupid daughter!"
Afraid she would aggravate her father further, Lady Cyan then chose to use magic on Cane, as red wisp appeared from both of her palms and this alerted the Alpha.
’If you have some idea, use it now.’ Cane communicated with the lycan in his head, as the creature had been busy entertaining himself, watching how this old man drained himself and his power.
’Don’t order me around, I don’t like that!’
’Fine. See what Iris will do to you if I am dead.’
The lycan growled and Cane could feel this strange frustration creep in, a mixture of emotions that did not belong to him.
Now the Alpha got his tail, he knew how to control this beast, though it irritated him to use his mate in this kind of negotiation. It irked him to no end when Lu’s emotions flooded whenever he mentioned Iris.
Probably, letting that old dark sorcerer extract this annoying lycan would be the best option. Oddly, the lycan thought the same thing, probably letting this ugly lady kill his vessel would get him free access to Cane’s body forever without any restriction.
