The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter novel Chapter 496

Chapter 496: THE EXPLANATION

Ethan grimaced when he came closer to the door, because the last time he was here, the strong smell of sex hit him so hard. He didn’t want to walk in on such a scene again.

Therefore, he sighed in relief when the air around was so fresh and delightful.

"I think she is not going to do it with the lycan even though they share the same body..." Ethan mumbled to himself, since he knew how eager the lycan was to reproduce with her.

The Gamma leaned his back against the wall, while waiting for Iris to come out. He tried to calm his mind, but it was so hard to do so when he knew this was just the beginning.

From the information he got from Haco, the King was dead along with four hundred of his royal warriors, Sir Elijah and also... Alpha Dristan. Koda must have not heard about it yet, because if he had, he would have blown his top by now.

"I thought after I got free from the slavery, I could get drunk until my head exploded," Ethan sighed. He would have never thought he would actually get to get drunk on the troubles that came to them without reprieve.

"Why do you want to get your head exploded?" Iris asked. She heard that when she opened the door and found Ethan deep in thought. He didn’t even notice her, until she spoke outloud.

The Gamma was startled, but then he gave her his wolfish grin. "I want to know how it feels when one’s head explodes." There were so many deaths today, but Ethan still managed to smile a lot. It was not that he didn’t feel anything, but different people have different ways of coping with grief.

Iris frowned when she heard that. She didn’t like the way he said the word lightly, it sounded like a bad omen. "Don’t say something like that again," Iris scolded him. She was so exhausted, both mentally and physically. She didn’t need Ethan to add more to her misery with his reckless words.

"Okay," Ethan agreed readily, scared to see the way Iris glared at him. He didn’t know there would be a day she could scare someone else. It seemed, Cane’s personality had rubbed off on her the wrong way. "Why did you ask to have a private talk with the four warriors?"

"They know about the lycan and I am not sure how to approach this matter," Iris said. She then proceeded to tell him briefly about what happened in the Goffa mountain, but she left out a few unnecessary details that Ethan didn’t need to know yet, such as her dream and her newly found power. She focused her narrative on the lycan and how the four warriors looked so blown away at the fact that their alpha was actually the cursed creature.

On the other hand, Ethan listened to her carefully. He already guessed it when he saw Cane’s red eyes.

"I don’t know how to talk with them, especially Oliver," Iris was being honest with Ethan. She felt Oliver had been trying to attack her and she could feel his dislike toward her.

"Don’t worry, I will talk to them." Ethan understood Iris’ position

Actually, there were not only four warriors, but also Chrystal, Alpha Dristan’s mistress. She was also there and witnessed everything when Cane shifted into his lycan form.

However, she was currently unconscious. It would be a tricky conversation with Chrystal because she was not part of the Howling Wolf pack. She didn’t have the same loyalty as those warriors. What if she freaked out and refused to cooperate? What should they do with her then?

Cane would have killed her to shut her up, but Iris felt uncomfortable with the idea, after all, she just escaped from Alpha Gill’s tyranny and was subjected to Alpha Dristan’s cruel treatment, but then, even after the two alphas died, she was going to be killed just because she knew something she shouldn’t?

Iris would talk with her personally, after she had regained her consciousness.

"Ethan, can you ask someone to look after Chrystal? Don’t allow anyone to talk to her before I did and tell me once she comes to."
