"Well... that’s a turn off." Lou touched his chin, as he stared down at the naked woman before his eyes for a moment and then went straight to the bed. Seemingly, all the mood had gone and this left Nala panicking, because she was afraid she would fail to get this merchant on her side.

She suppressed the feeling of humiliation that dreaded her, she became self conscious the moment she saw Lou’s reaction.

Before this, she had always had men to shield her and they were willing to do that because they wanted her body, thus Nala knew her greatest strength was her beauty.

In this lifetime, being beautiful was the greatest asset that women could have. You could get all the privileges that the ugly ones could only dream of, but it came as a blessing and a curse at the same time.

However, the King had ruined Nala to the point that another man could only see her naked body in disgust while this was something that never happened before. They used to worship her and tell her how beautiful she was.

"W- we can do it from behind, so you don’t need to see my scar..." Nala tried to persuade Lou, but the merchant only closed his eyes when she approached him, which shattered her self confidence even more. Did the sight of her really disgust him?

"Nah. Let’s do it another time. I am not in the mood right now." And after saying that, Lou turned his body away until his back was facing Nala and this hurt her even more.

Her pride was crushed. She, a woman, who always flaunted her beauty, now had a man give his back to her because he couldn’t stand the sight of her.

"O- okay..." Nala held back her tears and put on her dress back.

"Close the door when you leave."

That was just another stab to her heart. This merchant was truly heartless to the bone when he chose not to care.

Redmond returned so late at night, he was so damn tired and wanted to go straight to the sofa, where he used to sleep. Damn this woman to not allow him to sleep on the bed when it was spacious enough for both of them.

However, when Redmond was about to lie down, he heard a soft whimper from inside the bedroom.

At first, he tried to ignore it, thinking probably Sofia was just having another breakdown and crying again right now. The sight of her crying was not a new thing for Redmond, because he had seen that a few times before. And so, he intended to mind his own business.

Only he couldn’t. Though it was very faint, he knew this cry was so different from the other nights. He was not sure what was so different, but instead of falling asleep and minding his own business like he intended to do, Redmond felt restless and couldn’t sleep no matter how hard he tried.

"Oh, damn it! I must be cursed for having this life!" Redmond grumbled and cursed under his breath, as he pushed himself off the bed and strode toward the bedroom. He slammed the door open in annoyance. "Can you keep it down, please? There is a poor man here who needs his goodnight sleep! I am going to die if I don’t get my sleep, you know!"

But, Sofia only glanced at him over her shoulder while her back was facing him. Her eyes were swollen, as she curled herself into a ball and whimpered again.

This was weird, because usually Sofia would shout back at Redmond and both of them would tangle in a cursing competition against one another, until Redmond walked away and decided to sleep somewhere else.

Yet, Sofia kept whimpering and didn’t mind him at all.

"What happened?" Redmond toned down his voice and walked over to check on her. His anger subsided significantly when he sensed there was something wrong with this woman.

"My foot..." Sofia whimpered, her face contorted in pain and this made Redmond feel a little bit worried.

"Your foot? What happened to your foot?" Redmond immediately pulled away the blanket that covered her and saw Sofia was trying to reach her leg, but because she was heavily pregnant, her stomach didn’t allow her to bend her body to touch her own leg.

"Cramp..." Sofia wept, still trying to reach down, seemingly, to massage her own leg.

Hearing that, Redmond immediately sat down on the edge of the bed. "Which one?" he stared at her feet that were covered under her long dress.

"Left..."

Redmond grabbed her left foot and pulled up her dress to get a better look at it. "How can you have a huge foot like this?!" he was surprised to see how big her foot became. "What is it? Your feet are also pregnant?"

Had Sofia not been in pain, she would have given him a piece of her mind, but unfortunately, she couldn’t do that when she was in so much pain right now and Redmond could help to alleviate the pain, or so she thought...
