Thankfully, Arthur and Mal covered the children’s eyes, because what Lil Thing did next was something that would forever haunt the children. They might end up to fear the white bear if they witnessed this.
Arthur and Mal had never seen with their own eyes how ferocious Lil Thing could be, they only heard about it and thought those people were exaggerating, since they witnessed how silly the bear was and how gentle the creature with the little one. Not even once, it did something to harm the children, no matter what they did to it.
The children whimpered against Arthur and Mal with their eyes close, while Haco sat down on the ground, watching the whole thing, without any change on his expression whatsoever.
But, because of the commotion, there were more warriors came and Lil Thing wouldn’t be able to fight them all simultaneously without any help.
"We can’t stay here!" Arthur said, he looked around and currently, they were about to be surrounded. There would be no way for them to leave this place once it happened. "Get the children to the secret passageway and I will get the baby and Haco!"
Mal did what Arthur told him, he asked the children to close their eyes and keep it that way until he said otherwise, because he didn’t want them to see this horrendous sight.
Meanwhile, Arthur got the baby and grabbed Haco’s hand, forced the old sorcerer to stand up and ran. "Lil Thing, let’s go!"
Arthur tried to get the white bear’s attention, but it only glanced at him and let out a low growl, before it charged forward, where he had to fight ten to fifteen more beasts, which happily ripped every inch of its body, where they could get their fangs or claws of.
This was a hard decision, but he had no other choice, when Arthur turned around and left the white bear. He had the baby in his arm and this old sorcerer with him, he had to make sure they survived and get to the safe place.
"Where is Lil Thing?" Celia asked, because she heard its growls was getting further away. "Where is Lil Thing?" She opened her eyes and looked around, but she couldn’t find it, yet before they entered the forest, she caught a sight of it.
Lil Thing had around five beasts on its back, tried to chew it alive, while he fought more beasts, which tried to take it down.
"No! Lil Thing!" Celia cried, but Mal caught her hand and dragged her away.
"We need to leave!"
=============================
"I can’t believe I am in this kind of situation!" Nala hissed disdainfully.
Currently, Lou, Nala and Sabian were inside a water tunnel, as they were so desperate to find a way out from this stinky place.
Lou glared at Sabian, who stared at his own fingers timidly. "But, this is a perfect place..." he said in low voice.
And for the first time Lou and Nala were on the same page, as they replied to him angrily. "This is not!"
"I have never been in this nasty place!" Nala growled in frustration. She had never been so dirty like this, if you didn’t count being with so many men because they lusted her and became the previous king’s sex slave as one, then she indeed lived in luxury.
"Argh! My cloak! This is stinky!"
Sabian could only heave a deep sigh, in this matter, the two of them were very similar. They were very sophisticated to say the least.
No wonder, despite their bickering, they actually got along well.
"But, this smell will cover our scent from the shifters..." Sabian tried to defend himself, he felt very wronged by the two of them when he had tried his best to keep them alive.
He found this water tunnel when he roamed around the area and got down here once because of curiosity. He was actually surprised because this water tunnel was actually very well built, but he had not yet gotten a chance to explore. He only knew, it would lead them out of the pack house, since they couldn’t go to the two secret passageways, since those exits had been blocked.
"Shut up!" Lou and Nala shouted at Sabian, rendered the latter speechless.
"If you don’t run away, we have been out of this pack, you know..." Sabian grumbled under his breath.
"What did you say?" Lou narrowed his eyes at him, but Sabian immediately shook his head.
"No- nothing."
The three of them kept going, following the current water.
They were tired, hungry and stinky. The only thing that illuminated their path was the luminous pear in Sabian’s hands.
Tiring from bickering and complaining, Lou and Nala finally shut up and walked in low spirit.
Meanwhile Clad and Leros, who supposed to look for Lou, were being caught by the Winter Moon warriors and right now, they were sitting in the pack square, along with the other pack member of Diandem pack. They tried to keep lowkey, because once these warriors knew they were the member of Howling Wolf pack, they wouldn’t be treated so nicely, as to sit among people in the open area, while the rain poured down on them.
"Look," Leros said, he nudged Clad’s shoulder and nodded at his right side, where they could see four warriors dragged something big and placed it in front of them. "Is that... the white bear?"
Clad narrowed his eyes. "I think so." He frowned so hard when he saw the condition of that creature. It must have gone through the nastiest fight. "Is it... dead?"
"I am surprised he could come up with a beautiful name," Iris said. freeweɓnovel.cøm
