Chapter 729: IT’S OKAY TO GRIEVE

Cane had been staying with Iris and he turned to his taciturn self, as he kept taking care of her and the baby all the time.

Though both of them managed to survive the gruesome labor, but it didn’t mean iris and the baby were completely fine, both of them still needed to be nursed back to their health, especially the baby, because she was born premature, Grace found some complication and had to pay close attention to her.

Rora. They named their baby that survived after Cane’s late sister and the older daughter Crystal, after Cane’s late mother. fгeewebnovёl.com

"I want to see her..." Iris said weakly after she breastfed her baby, who was currently sleeping, Grace was with them inside the room, just in case, something happened with the baby, the healer needed to be near.

Cane understood, who Iris meant. She wanted to see their other daughter, who occupied the room next to them. The same room where the white diamond tiger stayed, but right now Ezra was with Zale and stayed with him.

"Okay," Cane said, he leaned over and carried Iris in his arms, both of them walked out of the bedroom. He didn’t object her request, or telling her to take some rest, because both of them knew they needed to see their baby. It was not fair to leave her alone.

Iris rested her head against Cane chest and squinted her eyes slightly when the bright sunlight came to her sight, as the door was opened by Zephyr.

This was the first sunlight after so many months being in the dark. The cold light of sun in the winter season.

People cheered when they finally got to see the light of the sun again, but the heavy tension in the air and devastation of losing someone dear to them lessened their joyful feeling.

They thanked the Serafim for her miracle, assuming she was the one, who made it happened, since the Sylph belonged to her.

However, Abby said nothing and the people from the Holy Kingdom had their own thought about this matter and what actually had transpired, especially the black wisp that came from the alpha. Yet, because the alpha and the luna were still mourning the lost of their baby, they had not yet brought up this matter.

When Iris and Cane entered the next room, Aliana was there too, she looked like she had been crying her eyes out, as she stared at at the baby on the crib.

Iris had tried her hardest to revive her baby, but even when she had the life essence of the first Serafim, there were still things she couldn’t do. She couldn’t revive the death and that was an absolute law of nature.

"Put me down, Cane..." Iris said, she wanted to walk toward her baby.

Cane obliged, but he still wrapped his arm around her waist to prevent her from falling down, as he escorted her to the crib.

Aliana nodded politely at the alpha and luna before she left the room, giving some time for the two of them to see their baby.

"She is beautiful..." Iris said, as she stared at her baby.

"Absolutely," Cane replied.

There was no word that was shared between the two of them for long time, as they mourned the lost of their first daughter.

Iris touched Rora’s cheek and gleam of light appeared.

Once again, she tried to get her little one back, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t revive her baby. She could purify the black magic from her, but she couldn’t bring her back to life.

Iris tried and tried, while Cane let her tried. There was no point of telling her to stop, because he didn’t want her to think she didn’t do enough.

This reality was hard to be accepted, but this was what they had to face.

In the end, Iris stopped trying and simply stared at her baby, kissing her every now and then and sang for her, in small and weak voice. Her voice was shaking when she told her how much she loved her and how sorry she was for not being able to protect her.

They stayed like that for another hour...

"I don’t want her to be buried here..." Iris said finally after a long and depressing silent.

Golden Light pack was too far from their homeland. Iris couldn’t imagine to have her daughter to be buried away in this strange land, away from the place they supposed to be called as home.
